Try reading the thread before replying. As for the 650TI Boost, it's a good deal more expensive than a 7770 in the UK. It's closer to 7870 prices. As is the 660.
God damn you guys! you see this is why I set my tight budget.... im now on £500! AMD 8320 7950 IceQ Asus MSA99FX PRO (wouldn't mind having the 16/16 sli/Xfire capability) 8 GB Patriot Venom 2400mhz DDR3
Can I see your links? Are you def going to go SLI? Could save some money with 970 chipset.....up to u. Also you're going to need a CPU cooler, CM Hyper 212 Evo should do.
hehe yer sorry Links... replace the stars with overclocker s.co.uk GFx http://www.********************/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-065-HS mobo http://www.********************/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-560-AS ram http://www.********************/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-092-PA changed the ram from 2400mhz to 1866mhz, but much better timings also yer I do fancy SLI, annoyed me on my last PC because I couldn't add a second 5850. Also I have a Corsair H50 with dual Noctua PF12 fans, hoping that will do the job for now.
I have also looked at this combination... https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Com...Socket+AM3+)+ATX+Motherboard+?productId=55019 https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecial...1196-19-20G]+++3+FREE+GAMES!+?productId=56754
That Sapphire card has a much better cooling solution than the HIS, if you're comfortable spending the extra I'd say it's worth it.
I am but I would have to forgo the Asus mobo in favour of the Giga because Aria don't sell the asus. Equivalent cooling priced 7950 on ocuk is an MSI Twin Frozr 7950 boost at 199
You may as well get 2400mhz because although the timings are a bit looser the latency will be better due to the higher speed. This is how DDR3 works. Since there's only a couple of euro's between Patriot, Kingston and Corsair 1866-2400 sticks it would pay to get the fastest stuff available. It won't make a huge difference atm but means you won't need to upgrade again a year from now and may be handy if you decide to move to Steamroller. I'm extremely biased towards Kingston HyperX (Hynix/Samsung IC's) but anything with a lifetime warranty should be OK if you don't plan to overclock the memory. If u do want to overclock then we could suggest some sticks for u. http://www.********************/productlist.php?catid=8&groupid=701&sortby=priceAsc&subid=1387
Someone on the forums recently bought one of those new revision MSI 7950's and had good things to say about it, there's also the cheaper HIS IceQ Boost for £187.99 that's definitely voltage unlocked. I've actually used one of those and found it worked flawlessly, oc'd well also.
Just to let you know, Overclockers doesn't allow direct linking, not sure why. Darkeh, have you settled on a final build yet?
Yer think so...... Subject to change Amd 8320 Asus m5a99x pro or evo Amd 7950, probably the his iceq 8gb patriot viper 2400 So far....
Throwing this out here. How does an i5 4670K and an entry-level / midrange Z87 motherboard compare to the AMD platform chosen in terms of performance and price?
Ok so was looking at slightly higher gfx cards Am stuck now.... Msi twinfrozr 7970 £240 Msi twinfrozr gtx680 £240 Asus gtx 680 dcu £240 Im thinking the msi 680 because it has slightly higher clocks, i love the asus dcu stuff, but the cooler is a triple slot so would be awkward for sli.... ***Edit Im thinking over using 3 x vga monitors (1600x1050) with my PC. Im thinking 2 x mini display port to VGA adaptors http://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-Di...=1-1&keywords=active+mini+display+port+to+vga and 1 DVI-I to Vga anyone know if this will work? is there a preference on Nvidia surround v eyefinity.. as long as they both work, ive read the 7970 will be faster due to the extra vram at 4800x1050
I manged to get a second msi 7850 2gb for £97 (new) on ebay the other week... cheep as chips and overclocked to 1250/1400 easy, so if your going cheep then want to crossfire you really cant go wrong.
