ricardo, you have a 1000 watt powersupply GTX 480, i5 2500k and the works. Why don't you just invest in a nice widescreen LED monitor. They are much better nowadays than what they were, and even look better than CRT's if you calibrate them correctly. Just a suggestion.

    I got 1000W in 2010 - I would buy 2nd GTX 480 but unfortunately I can't due to crisis.
LCD monitor is NOT better than CRT monitor for gaming!! I don't deserve any LCD-LED monitor due to motion blur issue. Therefore, I'm very happy for CRT 21" until 2015~2020 (I will buy OLED monitor ). ;)

All resolutions + vertical frequencies by default are normal until 29x.xx :) but 30x.xx/31x.xx for Win 7 x64 is crap except all normal drivers on XP.

But has 310.xx for Win7 x64 to back to "overrides refresh rates"?

Does your native res and refresh rates work fine? If so I'm still not quite sure what you are asking then.

I bet you if I stuck my LCD screen in a 40 lbs box with an inch thick glass window in front of it, you would think it was an oh-so-awesome CRT.

CRT monitor has all native resolutions due to analog. My CRT has max "custom" 2560x1600@60Hz and x1920@57Hz but I can't higher resolution or refresh rates (eg: 2560x1920@60Hz) due to RAMDAC limited. ;)

I hasn't worry volume/weight because the table for PC has security by weight about 4 years. ;) I like too and keep CRT monitor because the fast texts/objects moving are importants. :)

NV doesn't fix my 310.xx issue yet.....

There is still a native resolution made for the monitor. Using custom resolutions either create stretching, black bars, less detail, or more detail then can be displayed by the monitor (the latter done on purpose if downsampling is your goal, which it's not).

What you are doing is not for lack of a feature in newer drivers due to it being too archaic, but rather because it makes no sense to do it. Perhaps the reason why your 'problem' was swept under the rug by everyone except you is because no one else sees the point in doing what you are doing. Even when CRT's was the dominant display to use.
It's because of this that I question why you don't wonder why you are the only one complaining about this. :)

No downsampling but I got normally a bit "focus" due to "micro" pixel. ;) But I played at 2560x1600 in bit-old games, such as Dead Space 2... (until ~2008). xD Crysis 2, Alan Wake, Batman AC and more few games at 1280x720@60Hz due to heavy and current/new games -> I want 720p because I like pure-smooth (amazing moviments). ;)

If you buy today's LED monitors, they are better for gaming than any CRT. Go out and look at models 2010+. They are better than you think, and put any CRT I look at to shame.

2ms monitor, you see no motion blur. 3ms still no blur. 5ms and up maybe.

But avoid 5ms and you are fine.

You're stupid! Because I tested that the difference of motion blur between CRT and LCD monitor is much great - NO EXIST that LCD gets no motion blur in world!!

Silence!! - due to see my post #22 about "OLED monitor".

Why don't you add custom resolution your self? For that reason there's the button for that.

Yes, I have added custom resolution but I can't keep 720p@60Hz and got 720p@75Hz or 1280x1024@75Hz in games. I have change resolution with override to 720p and to 60Hz ingame "Assassin Creed 3" setting but this or other game cannot force 720p@60Hz despite to show "1280x720@60Hz" ingame AC3 setting.
    -> Therefore, 30x.xx and 310.xx (Win 7 x64 only) are very stupid!!
