Hey guys. Recently purchased new gear, it's on it's way to me but I didn't consider what cooler to get yet as I was in a hurry. I currently have a CM Hyper N520. I haven't found any reviews for this cooler with the newer i7's. Would it be worth while using this over the stock cooler? From what I hear the stock ones are really bad, even at stock speeds. I won't be OC'ing for a while until I can find a nicer cooler. Do you think the Hyper N520 will do in the mean time?
Umm, it doesn't say it fits on Socket 1155, so I wouldn't hold my breath, email Cooler Master and ask them if there's at least Socket 1155 or 1156 support. If there isn't, then this cooler is useless to you. deltatux
I have the Hyper N620 and it kicks ass...not the quietest cooler around though. 31c @100% load. (500mhz OC) The 620 fits on LGA 1366 if that helps...

Interesting, when I searched for it, Google must have linked me to an outdated page. Ok, that means there is support then. deltatux
Sorry to double post, but I got a friend who just so happens to ask about this cooler for his 2500K, does this cooler have clearance issues in terms of blocking RAM slots? deltatux
I'd imagine that depends on the motherboard he's using and not the CPU. I'll report back if it fits on the Asus P8P67-M Pro, should arrive this morning or afternoon from couriers.
Aah, the P180 ? That's what I have now, and why I'm building my i7 in a new case, monster huge heavy case that with really horrible cable management options, tho I think the P182/3 had some holes in the M/B tray for that. Great quiet case, it will become my new Linux file server's home
i have read reviews where they have not spoken highly of N520. but as someone said, anything is better than stock.
Busy building, opted to go for the stock cooler for now and look for a better cooler in the mean time, as the CM I have, I can't find the other mounting clips for it. Will look at other coolers after I've tested my new baby out.
Don't see why reviews matter - it's gotta be better than the stock cooler and he already owns it....no money lost. XBIT Labs test ranked the 620 2nd, behind Thermalright.....dunno wat the difference is between the 5/620 tho.
no issues here. the room that computer is in stays pretty frosty. idle is anywhere between 32c-36c and max temps have never gone above 52c and thats with a 24/7 4.0ghz OC
And my baby is up! Stock cooling @ 3.4ghz idle so far 37 degrees C. Not bad so far. Busy setting stuff up, will stress test and report back later. And then look for a nicer cooler
