I've been running stable now at 800/2250 - though I'll still have to keep an eye out on it. I know 830 Core wasn't working and 2300 memory wasn't. But I Think I still have some room between those values. Temp been around 48-52C under load still.

    what is wrong with you

Utterly diabolical as if you buy a 8800gts to swap from a 2900xt

2900xt is the shiz and in crossfire is even better

as peter kay sais - How dare you

Yeah, theres a difference between having 2 cards and 1, looking at your specs it seems like you have Crossfire so how you can make that judgement I have no idea. :3eyes:

See to the left. Highest stable, but thinking of doing a voltmod to push it to the extremes. The 8800GTS 512mb cooler is sickly, my temps never peak over 55C on full load and idle at 45C!

I call bull**** on the core and shader clock. No way that is stable without any type of modding. Run ATiTool for 15 min. and see how many errors you get. And why did you only push the memory like 28 points up from stock? And a new cooler isn't going to do you anything unless you plan on voltmodding it.

    800 Core, 2250 Memory, 1999 Shader - Max temp 48C stable

Can't go much higher on the memory or core w/o it starting to have issue.

But I'd definitely stick with the 8800 over the 2900, unless you don't need AA w/e

What are you talking about? I do see improvements in frame rates, the 2900xt is a decent card but honestly isnt worth the 450 I spent on it. Now this 8800gts I paid 350 and it outperforms the 2900xt in every benchmark and game, so I dont know how you would justify the price difference between the two. Prior to the 2900xt I had the 8800gts 320 and the 640 which I replaced with the 2900xt, and I was quite happy with the performance but now that I have this card I can honestly say that it is better then the 2900xt in every aspect. I was thinking about crossfire as well but after reading reviews on how bad it was I was turned off. Dont you think two 8800gts in sli would be the better and smarter choice to go with anyways?
