Wow, the game looks and runs so much better than on the ps3!
The DX10 lighthing, high res textures and supersampled AA makes it really shine.

That's good to hear, I was dissapointed when I saw the benchmark thinking it represented the actual gameplay but now I'll definately consider getting it. :D

Im gonna get it anyway, i played the demo on the ps3 and the PC is so much better, looks like the control will be better too. My only issue is if it ends up as a pretty much on the rails keep getting attacked by zombies until completion. I wouldnt mind that so much but i like the odd slow bit in a game to gather yourself together lol

Yeah, I get the same problem.

Edit: Seems to be an isolated issue with the HD4xxx series.

Ran the benchmark on my laptop.
    Vista Ultimate 32-bit
High textures, low shadows, medium overall quality, VSync enabled.

It ran surprisingly smooth during "actual gameplay" despite the below average FPS.

    XP SP3
    Settings : 1280X1024, All High, 4XAA
    FPS : 38.7

Game looks great, and ran pretty smooth even at a pretty average framerate. Obviously somewhat limited by my CPU, but not tremendously.

Yep I can confirm too, that there is something wrong with part 3 on HD4xxx cards. I get like 70fps average on part 1 and 2, then like 25fps on 3.

Theres only 1fps difference here between dx9 and dx10; 43 and 44 respectively at defaults, high-quality, no aa/af.

  17. Figured I'd give this a couple runs

On x64 Vista Home Premium SP1
    Driver Ver. 186.18
    DX9 & DX10

    Each Test is using:
    1280x1024 @ 32Bit 75Hz Refresh (Despite having a 19in LCD, I'm limited to this.. Blows)
    Vsync - Off
    F-rate - Unlocked
Shadow, Texture and Overall - High

Only AA and Blur are changed between these.

    1st. DX9, AA - Off Blur - Off

    2nd. DX9, AA - C16XQ Blur - On

    3rd. DX10, AA - Off Blur - Off

    4th. DX10, AA - C16XQ Blur - On

I was going to ask the same as Bigtime..

Anway...man 16Q hard on our cards aye...? Do you notice a big diff between 16x and 16Q?

I run 16x cause I don't like the "soft" effect of 16Q you know - fuzzy edges..?

That screenie looks like a Photo-shop job to me.....and a bad one at that..
