    Just spotted this here in news section,
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4259767&postcount=97

    Maybe nvidia's GK110 1024?core (~3.8tflops) response?

    [IMG]

    GCN 2.0:
    2304 SPs(96 32 bit ALUs per CU)
    192 TMUs(8 TMUs per CU)
    48 ROPs(2 ROPs per CU)

    2304 * 2 * 1.0GHz => 4.608 tflops

    ^
    The numbers could be fake, but tflops count kinda covers itself

    Then that leaked Saphire document had some truth in it after all.

    Most liley a 7980 (given the close release and only 1.2x increase). Looks interesting and can't say I'm at all surprised. Would be interesting to see if these overclock aswell. The saphire 1375Mhz model is set to release based on 7970 so if this thing can do 1500Mhz on simple air cooling it'll be a winner.

    It is a stupid mistake, but that does not automatically mean the article is a fake...

    I just remember I had seen a reference to a product with 2304 SP's a couple of months ago. It could have been a fake product, and this could be recycled fakery. It did appear 'out of place' at the time. In any case it was definitely a HD7000 series product (in the reference I am referring to). Also other information was that Sea Islands is a bit of a jump from the HD7000 series, and its not just a HD7970 with a few extra units on it.

    Going by the configuration, if true it would suggest its possibly a full featured chip. By that I mean the HD7970 actually has some units disabled, and likewise the HD7950 even more. It just doesn't make sense otherwise. If this is the case though, it may be harder to find than the HD7970..

    Come on guys amd can't write a good driver so it would come as no shock if they also couldn't write a sentence without some "bugs"

    Well i kinda doubt its sooo fake as you all say.. Its just a slide, mistakes can happen even for such a big corp. like AMD.
