Hello to everyone, I'm trying to surprise my dad with a secret gift. I am thinking about changing his old pentium4 for something more fancy/flexible. This machine has to be: Better than geforce 6600 (to be able to play AoE III, Caesar IV, Tropico IV) Reproduce videos in 720p, if possible in 1080p budget: 350-550$ (plus 50-75$ for shipping, from USA to Venezuela) I'm looking for a mini-desktop mainly because of: 1. the shipping price (weight/volume) 2. I think it could be useful for him to move the pc from house/work (he has one slow there) 3. it will seem futuristic to him 4. freeing some physical space (not very important) What do you think about the: ASUS VM60-G067R ($449.00) (http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VM60-G06...&ie=UTF8&qid=1403116352&sr=1-14&keywords=mini) Or this one: Intel NUC Mini Desktop i3 4GB 120GB SSD ($324.99) (http://www.amazon.com/Intel-NUC-Min...1403114794&sr=8-2&keywords=mini+desktop+intel) In advance, thank you very much for your answers! c1:
From the specs they would be great as a small PC connected to a TV but from what I read they are not really for gaming. I am May be wrong I think you need to find someone that has one to get a true idea of what there capable of. Some small PC capable of gaming https://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/mini-pcs-computers-sff-small.asp
You'd obviously get a lot more bang for buck if you just went for a micro-atx build. You could do an AMD build micro-atx mobo, APU, case, ssd and ram for probably $550 or less. I don't know about shipping on something like that though. When I say micro, the cases would be something like this or this
Yeah, I see is not the best idea, it gets expensive (compared to atxs) and is not desgined for playing. Thanks both for your anwsers.
