then the 3th link is the same as the 4th?
cause the 3th is working fine for me, so maybe you should remove the 4th.

    Hi,

This is great news, only about a week ago I posted a thread here asking could it be done! lol but I didnt want to brick my 6950.

My only concern is that this might only work if your chip was form a good batch that will work with shaders enabled, but I heard yeilds were very good for this card so fingers crossed.

Bought mine for £216 delivered so really good value if it works considering a 6870 can be bought for around £20 less. ftw

Plus the bios switch makes it more tempting, but ive never flashed a bios before so I have stupid questions like are there currently two bioses on the 6950 currently, so I wont have to do any switch flicking unless it goes wrong?
And also will future ati drivers effect the card in any way that will harm it using the modded bios?

Is there a shader pipe intensive test for ATI cards? If it were Nvidia I would just say run a CUDA or PhysX benchmark.

Perhaps some benches with Unigine Heaven?

all good at the moment, does anyone fancy making a bios with higher limits and smartdoctor functionality for voltage, say 1200 core 1600 mem or thereabouts?

Im keeping it at stock 890 core for now lol

First bad 6950 reported over at XS

Well it seems not every card out there is able to unlock correctly. Same as with CPUs. This was to be expected, too...

Yeah, and welcome to Guru ZoLKoRn :)

Btw, there is no risk to doing this, as if it goes tits up, you just flick the switch for default BIOS don't you :p

    correct.
I got 2 cards, one might function properly.
dont have time today to do that.
and sicne I aim to overclock this I can wait for afterburn support.
for people running stock its a great mod if it works.

looks quite safe, you can always back up and revert back to 6950 with that switch.. there is no way you can't kill it:nerd:

couldnt make winflash to work in windows for some reason.
flashed and tested, with atiflash one card unlocks good, the other one artifacts in windows.
Just the luck of the draw, no biggie.:puke2:

make sure you have the latest ati winflash
w1zzard originally linked to version 2.0.1.11 of winflash (which didn't work for me), but now his link points to winflash 2.0.1.13.

yep that winflash is the wrong one, he should have pointed to 2.0.1.13, atiflash is still loads better though.

anyone else here benched at all?

    there is one, 6950 = 6+6 and 6970 = 6+8

so the extra "energy" goes to...?
