I did play Space Marine and it's nowhere near as bad as Sleeping Dogs. SD doesn't even have any form of AF while we're at it, and while NVidia users can force it through drivers (it works, tested myself), AMD users are essentially ****ed, because even "forcing" it apparently doesn't work on AMD cards.

As for HQ, I tested a couple of flags in Risen 1, and Left 4 Dead one kind of works, but flickers on/off when standing near torches and is also visible through fog so I decided not to use it. But I tested Performance/Q/HQ in it and HQ has stronger effect. Grass literally became almost pitch black with HQ on, but at the same time the shading was a lot sharper and cleaner so to speak. A box gave off a visually sharp square-shaped AO, with Quality it was blurrier and more rounded (and grass wasn't as dark, but still dark). Performance was all kinds of bad though, I really don't recommend using it. Better to not have something, than have **** quality. At least that's my motto that I apply to all things in life.

Whiplashwang, have you tried the Assassin's Creed 1 flag?

I recently tried AC1 flag for it and it had issues in cinematics like in Mass Effect 1 (maybe fog issues too but don't quote me on that). AC1 on the other hand is completely broken at least in DX10 mode.

Which flag to use for Dishonored? Im not sure which one worked from the old SSAO ones, but Im pretty sure there was one which worked at all angles.

Try any of the Unreal Engine 3 ones.
Would still be glad for some Risen 1 and Risen 2 flags though. Closest I got to "decent" was that L4D one I mentioned earlier (all Source engine flags seem to work the same though)

Will do. Also a heads up, I was playing around with Divinity 2 cause I know the Wolfenstein AO bit was working before the update. So I wanted to find another one and I did. The Aion Bit which is 0x00000018 works. I was trying quite a bit of different angles and it seemed to work without issues. Maybe someone can confirm.

Edit: For Dishonored I've found that the 0x0000002F (Hawken) Bit works pretty flawless. I tried every bit, this is the only one with no angle and/or performance issues. Im playing with Downsampling + FXAA + AO with steady 60 fps. Also the effect is subtle, not too subtle, just perfect for this game cause it has already some "prebaked" AO in its texture artwork. Also if someone could confirm no angle issues for this game. I've been testing quite a bit but you can never be too sure ;) .
A small comparison for Dishonored, Divinity 2 is very obvious with AO on:
    No AO:

    With AO:

Anyone know a decent flag for CS:GO? So far, the AO looks terrible. Flickering and seems to disable AA (jaggies everywhere).

    For Deus Ex Human Revolution?
    In-game SSAO is terrible.

Issues with the official flag? Please post about it in Nvidia's Official thread with some screenshots if possible so they can fix it
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/683553/geforce-drivers/hbao-driver-feedback-thread/

In the mean time, try the CS:Source Flag or one of the Half Life Flags

    Standard game or Director's Cut?

Can the in game AO be disabled?

Once you answer these questions I will add it to a post that I will make every so often called the "Request Queue"

That way someone can test it

*Yes, it can be disabled (option menu)

    *Thief: Deadly Shadows
    *Deus Ex: Invisible War

    are DirectX/Direct3D 8.1 games. HBAO+ requires DX9 engines.

    UT 2004 64 bit (->patch) is DX9.

    Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2

I think I found the one:

    - Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 -
    Flag:
    0x00000020 (Mass Effect)
General Information that is relevant and necessary for the game:
Tested with retail version, needs more testing but appears to be similar so far to 0x00000030 but without the bugs.

I've beaten the final boss before finding this profile, so I cannot replay his apparition cinematic to see if there's no more problems with it, but I found a place where you can test if there's trouble with fog: call the wolf and follow it, when Dracula stands in front of the big light you can clearly see if the HBAO+ glitches or not. :)

Or just go to the Bernhard wing and look at the candles. With the old flag, the candles have unnatural grey/black dark aura around them. Haven't tested this one yet, will report soon.

I can confirm the Mass Effect flag works much better for LoS2. It still flashes on and off but only when you pickup crystal secrets. As in it turns off for the duration for the pickup which gives glow from the crystal secret, and automatically turns on after the pickup animation is done. Seems almost perfect to me. Doesn't show through transparency like flames or fog. 9/10 working rating.

Thank you. (Yeah, been waiting for patches myself. Disappointing)
Yeah, however I was under the impression from Nvidia that HBAO+ could work in any API (Though TBH they probably just meant OGL,DX9 and DX11)

    Thank you :)

    Hello guys.
It's SLIKnight from the 3DCenter forums.
I finally got around to registering here on Guru3D also.

Very nice job with the AO thread so far.
Sadly I don't own Deux Ex: HR or Risen 1 or 2, so can't test those.
But Deux Ex is built on an advanced version of the "Crystal engine" used in "Tomb Raider: Underworld", so that might be a starting point at least :)

Natural Selection 2 arguably has a more indepth AO option given how it treats normals and is really temporally stable (on high at least).

I would IMO stick with the ingame AO on high.
