Only a month away, and no thread :bang: Well, yeah. Finally we are getting this masterpiece redone with proper team. I'm SO waiting for this one. http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/4mw519/xcom--enemy-unknown-preview
Theres a thread here Cant wait for this game, looking forward too it so much! http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4411065#post4411065
Really nice graphics, for a game like that. IMHO cut scenes could be made with real time engine, but cant complain about those. Combat is a bit too streamlined for my liking. You basically don't have to move for line of fire any more, so it's a bit less chess. Also couldn't figure out different fire modes, etc. We'll see how all those play out in final release. Promising, I'd say.
Downloading .. though I thought it was some random TPS after I had seen a couple of initial screenshots
I downloaded it last night but got distracted by what I thought was a Jellybean update for my S3 phone so forgot all about it. Will try the demo tonight... if I remember.
I like the demo, would rather have had TU as movement like the original but its still ok,looking forward to it very much. Interview with devs. http://angryjoeshow.com/2012/06/aj-spoony-exclusive-xcom-2012-interview/
I didn't like this at all. Seems far to cumbersome and slow to play having to move each unit individually and the graphics are poor for Unreal Engine 3 IMO. I've played an XCOM title before though, many years ago, but despite the visual upgrade, the game seems very dated. Clearly, it is not my type of game at all.
i loved the game bigtime. gamepad integration is awesome. music and atmosphere is cool. music reminds me DeusEx:HR. the only problem for me is buy on PC or PS3 :/
Thats how xcom is,moving each unit individually, its always been this way,i dont think the graphics are bad for a game of its type i mean people still play the original(there is always atleast 1 person playing xcom on my steam friends) including myself from 1993 and those graphics are really really dated, but people dont play for the graphics they play for the immersive gameplay, each to there own, remember that there was alot of xcom clones out there years ago. If your a civilization fan or a true fan of the original game then it could be your game, otherwise i would steer clear people, this remake has been long overdue.
and managing each soldier on the field isnt so complex and hard. game is not BORING you with micro management on battlefield. man i waited for this for years.
Yeah im more excited about this than Borderlands tbh, also Carrier Command comes out today, another classic remake that i cant wait to get my hands on.
24 hrs to go,its on steam! Gonna be epic in SP and MP,taking over those islands with resources will be so much fun, hopefully just like the original from Rainbird in 1989 i think,i must have spent around 300hrs on this game between the ST and Amiga http://www.carriercommand.com/
