trolling out loud mate.? what performance monsters.? it's a refresh not a new generation..it's GCN2 and now we have GCN.. :bang: :bang: :bang:

difference in real world performance will be minimal from 5% up to 25%

have you ever seen ati/nvidia huge differences between a refresh.? on the last years i don't..

if you expect hd8000 will be 50-100% faster than hd7000 i will not argue people, it's your run :)

Who said it's going to be a refresh?

Q4 2013, it'll be 2 years after the release of the 7000 series.

The release of Titan itself has proved that the graphics cards to be introduced by Nvidia in Q4 2013 are NOT going to be refreshes. They have the technology ready at the SAME process (28nm) but at a lower quantity / yield. They're transitioning to a new process < 28nm.

You don't really think that if Nvidia are going to release a new generation (Maxwell), AMD are just going to release a refresh of GCN?

    GCN2 != a refresh of GCN.

Refreshes are generally 1 year after the original product. Not 2 years!

well maybe gtx7xx and hd8xxx not be refreshes and not pushed earlier than Q4 2013~Q1 2014 then the whole gpu hunting game changes...

hmm, thanks now i think that's why amd rebranded hd7xxx to hd8xxx, well maybe we are gonna see hd9000 for desktop out of nowhere...!!!

now that nvidia rushing a small titan they will not give out gtx7xx either anytime soon...well i believe everything is going to be new in terms of schedule.

Its vaporeare until officially announced by amd, I would even venture a guess on an unreleased series, but that's just me. I don't like being proven wrong

maybe, do you think that rebranding for oem is not legit at all.?

because when oem decides in future for gcn2 gpu use on hardware how on earth there will be the same hd8000 series like above.? :bang:

Um did you not realize that the Titan is a Keplar card (GK110) the 7xx may still be a refresh or they may just release Maxwell that all depends on what AMD does.

Yeah and by the looks of it all the AMD refreshes are going to be 7xxx look at the 7790 review where Hilbert talks about the sea island cards.

AMD is releasing a few new GPUs under the HD7K series....not refreshes. The HD7790 is based on the NEW GPU codenamed Bonaire.

Aren't these all GCN2 chips if so that's a "refresh" is it not. They have a few code names for higher end. Keeping my fingers crossed to see a "HD7980" single GPU that can come close to or match the Titan at the $600 mark (AMD is crazy enough to price it there).

this thing mentioned here has the exact same spec as GCN1.

I think GCN2 will feature higher texture/pixel fillrate, more stream processors and more ROPS.

GCN2, possibly.....refresh, no. Bonaire isn't based on Cape Verte, Tahiti or any other GCN1 chip. It's an entirely different chip. To be a "refresh" it would have to be based on a pre-existing chip design.

Sure, AMD could pull off a $600 single GPU solution to compete with Titan.....but why try to compete with a card that beats itself? Titan's price is detrimental to it's own sales and unless NVidia is planning to base their entire 700 series off GK110.....or are planning to release Maxwell instead of a Kepler refresh....they're going to cannibalize GTX700 series sales. All AMD has to do is keep their card prices reasonable enough to provide better value for money....and they beat Titan.

GCN1 doesn't have a set texture/pixel fillrate....and this card is expected to be rebadged into the next desktop release.

Of course it's a Kepler card, duh. I meant that the jump offered by Titan, which is not a refresh (it's the same architecture, Kepler, but a bigger, different chip), would mean that the newer 7xx cards aren't just going to be GK104 refreshed. They might be refreshes from GK110 (doubtful, since it's the biggest chip TSMC can currently produce), but they're most likely going to be Maxwell, since Nvidia's slides seem to indicate so.
