God. I've got better performance in dx11 now :gape: In Division at least. 5-7 fps on average. I saw the charts...old nvidia cards don't have much of improvements in dx12. But i thought that with my awful CPU i have some. Nope. Same with vulkan in Doom. In OpenGL it's about the same as my 7970 in Vulkan...maybe slightly worse even :3eyes: ...It's confusing. I'm confused :| EDIT: My bad. Faulty driver install. It would seems I f*ed up my custom package setup. Dx12 slightly faster overall and smother...
What, you have better perf. vs dx12 in Division or ?:nerd: So Doom openGL is around the same as 7970 in vulkan, well you should be comparing openGL vs openGL in that case.. And how is 780 in vulkan? Ps extra 8GB ram would really help in modern games, even by Division.. So it caches more and less swapping. I remember Rise Of TombRaider would use up to 11-12GB with ultra textures (no stutter), even now I saw a few games use up to 11GB with 6GB vram..
ah ok, I got a little better fps in dx12 at same settings (default ultra - no extra nv stuff), but I think its because I used view distance at 100% in both cases instead of default 60% and this settings makes more drawcalls overhead in dx11 then dx12.. dunno, maybe even Kepler limit or system ram..
Compared to OpenGL...kinda choppy feel. Didn't test much. Few fps less, drops to 48 fps. Same frame with 7970 - 55 fps. Got CTD after 30 minutes...don't know why. Event log was clear. In OpenGL - solid 60 fps. EDIT: I think it's maybe a driver issue. I recently installed 376.60 hotfix and yesterday i was using 378.49 whql. Need more testing...
Yeah Vulkan was kinda crappy here too, jittery/choppy even though I had 60fps vsync.. Idk what's after 375.xx didnt test more either. Ps Division can use 8.2GB system ram np
Thats a good advice. Buying more system ram is a good idea. It can help if you dont have enough Vram. Also, run Vulkan with vsync disabled, it removes the choppines.
I think nvidia is better if you want a fast performance, but if you want a good graphic you should choose AMD radeon
