I'm more into old literature (guess the first half of the 20th century is now in this category), but anyone should read V for Vendetta and Watchmen. Alan Moore's writing is superb.

Last book I read was the Lord of the Rings (trilogy.) Been too involved with, and distracted by computer studies, work, pc games, the web and tv.

I read them in their series links, so I did some of the non connected stuff first like small gods and pyramids, moved onto city watch, then death, the industrial revolution stuff, then wizards and finally the witch stuff which I just finished this year.

Read the Hobbit, and tried to read LotR. Just wasn't as exciting.

Currently reading Mistborn: The Final Empire. It's very good so far (about halfway through it).

    I'd recommend it. :)

I am currently rereading the third book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, The Wastelands.

I am also reading 11/22/63, which also happens to be by King.

Guess I am just in a King mood these past few months. Due to time constraints it can take me a long time to finish a novel.

Back when I was in high school, and shorty after high school I had a lot more time to read, and I would polish off a book or two a week.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is one of my favorite books, Philip K. Dick in general tends to be great. You should read Ubik too, fantastic narrative that plays time-travel in such a mind-bending way. A Scanner Darkly is on my must read list.

The Mistborn trilogy is pretty good, Brandon Sanderson is a great author. If you enjoy that I'd highly recommend his Stormlight Archive series, it's a lot better in my opinion.
