Can please someone tell me why when I install a driver, it defaults to YCbCr Pixel Format ? This of cource, happens when I use HDMI-HDMI connection... The 1920x1080 doesn't work as expected, normally... I've to manually change to RGB PC Standard Pixel Format in order to become better, but still on games etc I've to set manually a new 1920x1076 resolution in CCC. Otherwise, I get black bars around...

What's going on? Does it think I'm trying to connect a TV or something?

    DVI-DVI or even HDMI ( GPU ) -> DVI ( monitor ) works fine.

YCbCr 4:4:4 is the better pixel format afaik, its what I keep mine set to

THe black bars are likely due to scaling, goto CCC > My digital flat panels > Scaling Options and slide the slider to fill the HDMI screen

They do, they improve performance in PCMark 7/8 on the Richlands, and resolve the HDMI Audio drop-out on the Radeon HD series, the previous BETAs don't. :p

I was wondering the same about Bio and Remember Me. So that's due to both being a heavily modded unreal engine? Most of you know unreal usually is incredibly high in fps with ATI (old and optimised). Granted, those mods are pretty intensive (and impressive! I have to say for a minute there i thought i was looking at a ue 4 beta build! :nerd:)

Didn't they fix this "stuff" on BF3 and C0D? I'd like to find out what the real bottleneck is, other than my overexcited-ness about this new beta, lol. Welp, releases have been shaping up so I can't really bitch too much... :wanker:

So far no need to upgrade to this beta driver version, it improved nothing at all on my lappy, all benchmarks with the same results.
@asder00 as always thanks very much for posting.

This is my first Ati card I ever bought ,and I am happy with this card.
I always used Nvidia cards, look in the NVidia driver threat you see NVidia
encounters a lot of problems too.

this is not really a driver issues alone, but the game engines developing changing faster as the driver developments , I think.

Yes, but...it does happen with Nvidia cards as well. This points to a game issue and not a drivers issue.

Take a look at Metro: Last Light. One patch and performance went up for AMD cards.

Oh wonderful, the bottleneck is physx again. I didn't notice as it seems the devs found it much easier to add a disable option in a patch. I guess they didn't have any AMD hardware at time of release, lol. Let the pray for patch waiting games commence!

Well, good for you! My 8800GTX along with that of my friend's, both died in a year and a half of usage. No refund, no explanation, except several articles online pointing to a bad engineering effort from nVidia... Sometimes it's not the 'brand', just the individual product.

@OP, Thanks for the new driver! :)

YCbCr should never be used for Games, they are made for TINT : Cool and not for Kelvin D65- Warm.

Only Movies blueray and such made to be played on Warm or D65 Tint mode because that's how they picture it and made to look like that.

Games are and will be always RGB as possible because the possiblites u can make using this and the no limit of colours the artists needed to make a picture a real 3D motion picture so you can play with it as a game not a movie.

Your full of **** buddy i worked in a retail shop for 7 years and i don't think we did much warranty for that card or many components that weren't ****ed but users, Only card we had problems with was a OC 8800GTX ultra MSI brand which came back twice and still didn't want to run at its default speed. maybe you and your friends should stop building PC and get a PC technician to do it for ya.
