    Hi there,

I live in Brasil, and I bought this 6870 MSI HAWK from USA for 214 dolars about 1,5 month ago.

As you may know, the taxes here are awful, and the dolar is very high (1 dolar = R$1,87). So, a 6870 here is worth about R$600.

Since I'm going to NY next month, I was thinking of selling my 6870 here, for about 600, then I will have, 320 dolars from it. And I saw that in newegg the 7870 powercollor costs 329 dolars, is it worth to change my videocard?

For those who didnt pay atention to the math, I wouldnt spend any money on this, since I'd sell my 6870 here, and this money would be sufficient to buy a 7870 in USA.

Is it worth it? The 7870 is really a match for GTX 580? If not for a 7870, for a GTX 570? performance gain on the way?

We're talking a bout a 329 dolar videocard, so it's really worth it? I'll start looking for a buyer for my 6870.

Check out this comparison between teh two cards:

    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/540?vs=548

I love the Anandtech bench tool, if you want to the comparison cards to the 580 or 570, just select them from the drop down at the top of the screen.

Seriously though, that is a huge jump in performance from what you have right now. And if you can get it basically for free? Seems like a no-brainer.

Not worth as long as we see good price drop and new game titles GPU optimized rather than CPU bound console ****.

Save money dont buy it now wait for next gen GPU HD 8000 or GTX 700. until then u will save around 500-600$$ and get more performance.
22k for small bump not worth.

Yeah, I think I will do it since I won't pay anything, I will use the global economy at my side.

But, I'm still wondering if its better to get a 7870 or a GTX 570 MSI for less... 10 dolars?

I just know Newegg and Amazon for hardware, does anyone know where can I find the a 7870 for less than 339 bucks?

I also thought about CF 7770, but not all the games use it, so not worth it.

7870 better for that money since it clearly competes with 580 more so then with 570
