Driver Install: the installation failed

 

I couldn't get the modded version to install either. I am currently running a forced install of 12.3 through device manager. No CCC, but Afterburner has working sliders and Powertune can be set to +20%.

Anyway, have you tried installing it via device manager?

Edit: CCC and other software are installed successfully right?
Will give it another go tomorrow to see if I can fix the driver installation error, in the meantime install the softwares with the catalyst install manager and the driver via device manager if possible.

It did install via device manager... although it sucks because overscan is messed up by default, and it says there are no configurations if you try to go in Control Center to fix it.

Trying out BF3 on ultra and seeing how well the drivers work, hoping for the best.

 

Heh, I won't be able to game on my plasma until AMD sees fit to support their flagship card, since by default it is underscanned by 15%. Stop dropping the ball.

 

World of Warcraft seems to work fine, Cry engine 3 Editor/Launcher seems to work fine (graphic intensive), Weirdly enough... Punkbuster keeps kicking me in BF3 (probably cause of this overscan crap)...

Other than that it seems to be working on (can't really test accuratly cause of this overscan)

 

BF3 works for me, make sure you install it from the BF3 folder and then download the update from their website, add the game to the list and check for updates. I had to do that and I just got done playing a round without getting kicked.

It basically places a 1 inch bezel around your monitor so that the pixed aren't stretched to the right position and your resolution looks as if its really messed up

Better said, you can import settings from win7 (with some edits such device ID etc), i had to do that for audio.

 

would you know where its at in the registry?

 

Is w8 even worth trying right now? If I installed it to a second HDD could it read my games off my w7 HDD? I know w8 uses a new file type nothing can read except w8. The whole metro thing bugs me and I am still waiting for performance info o my 8150. Do games run any better on it?

 

BF3 punkbuster problem here, and overdrive aint working when i click accept it goes nowhere...

BF3 Punkbuster Fixed by update in the BF3 folder thanks for the advice, cheers now only need to fix OverDrive :]

 

Working great on my old HD5770.
CCC works, managed to adjust the overscan for TV, phew.

 

we were only addressing this for people who are running the 7xxx series uke2:

 

Malfate this thread is to discuss all video cards, as the original post suggests 7xxx ain't even supported. Please be nice.

To make it clear, I stated which gfx card I tried it with so others arent put off trying the driver because of the issues you have.

 

its not working for me on hd 4870 anyone know how to fix this? I really need it for work purposes as I have to test the new windows for work also wether or not they should upgrade at release date :L

Do these drivers install correctly with CCC fully working
also does scailing work correctly on these cards as i use my monitor + 47" HDTV and with default settings there is a 10% underscan and needs to be overscanned to get rid of the black bars .... does it work ? also does MSN after burner work correctly ?
