    Ok.

    I spoke too soon.

One card - yes, that will work fine.

Two cards, unless you have the luxury of multiple PCI-E slots "far apart" that you can use, simply can't be used.

The heat created by the bottom on the top, causes it to reach 97 and climbing (I turned it off at this point).

Honestly I've no idea what I'm going to do. Stock coolers I can't put back on - tried that, for some reason even with new thermal pads, it has trouble - perhaps the pads were too thick, but 0.5 would be too small, so I really don't know the answer.

It's honestly been suggested that I sell the 290's with this cooler seperately, as i say, its fine if its just the one...

With one card using the aftermarket cooler you have 52deg - 20% fan on load or idle?

With one card, a max of 70 today for some reason (I did change drivers to 9.2) - ignore the fan load, it's always 100%

Time to build your first waterloop I guess. But considering you've got "salty hands", might want to be a bit careful with that :nerd:

Or sell the second card or both cards?

Damn! Makes me think of my ex. GTX480. I would put them on water or sell/change for the GTX780.

    Right.

I have been up allllllllllll day fitting 2x Arctic Accelero's to them.

I have just this minute finished, I've not given them a huge run as I want to leave the glue a bit longer, but so far so good.

Not sure what it is about the accelero's but, they emite a very high freq "whine" that they didn't before. Unfortunately for me, It seems out of the 3 people I've said "hey, can you hear that?" I'm the only person who can hear the freq. lol - o'well...

    I will test later.

    First. Pizza.

The noise is the fan controller - manually setting it to 100% = no noise (and 100% is silent so!)

    That's that question answered!

Furmark runs fine - 65 deg max @ 100% (if using powertune then obviously, it works fine too but, I don't wanna run it at 95, perhaps 80! - fans 50% ish for that, very queit)

    However, please read: http://forum.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4698624#post4698624

    As, yeh, you'll see.

Just be sure that it cools the VRM enough too (are you certain that you put heatsinks in every spot that could need them?). It might not even though the GPU is not running hot, keep that in mind.

I would of thought the VRM would be cool enough - we've used the biggest heatsinks possible, and applied them with thermal glue. There is also a good airflow flowing "over and through" the cards as I've added some fans in front of the cards (case front). It is strange as Furmark, 3dmark and the other stress test all run perfectly.

    Watch out for VRM temps!

Use GPU-Z to monitor VRM temps if they're supported.
