Killer Instinct - Released on Win10 Store

Killer Instinct was released on the Win10 store yesterday for free.
It is a Win10 exclusive and launches as an App, just like Gears of War or Rise of the Tomb Raider.

But, it does allow "Cross Play" between PC and Xbox One. Cross Platform saves between both systems.

I haven't tried it yet, but I do know when you start it it immediately goes into a performance test/benchmark to see how your system will handle the game.
Also, IIRC, Iron Galaxy Studios worked on the PC version. The same guys behind Arkham Knight's PC port. Just, something to be aware of.

pretty bad buzz around internet about this game on win10. Refresh rate of screen influence timing of animations in the game :/

 

They're really making fun of themselves, aren't they?
This Window 10 Store bulls*it is hilarious.

 

That's not a Win10 Store issue.
That's just poor porting by the developers/studio that did the job.

The Coalition have rolled out multiple updates for Gears on Win10, containing several fixes and even additions users have requested.

Sorry, I'm all for holding Win10 Store responsible for the stuff that needs addressing.
But this issue... isn't one of them. This is just a bad job by the guys who handled the port.

 

Cap framerate with nvinspector or whatever and no problem anymore.

 

i started downloading it but then decided to stop so i paused then deleted the download in the store.

windows continued to download it even after a restart, i have stopped it by stopping the background intelligent transfer service but it's probably going to want to do it again after a reboot grr

how to delete it properly anyone?

 

I guess you need to uninstall it with power shell. Start power shell and type Get-AppxPackage. Maybe its there. Example for uninstall xbox-app: Get-AppxPackage *xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage
Google for more commands.

(Or maybe you need to download it once until finished and can uninstall/remove it properly then.)

It's boring and too arcady. I couldn't get to the second fight, lost interest. And it does not recognize DS4. The backgrounds are bland and static, the options are too few.

 

Damn right, too boring too quick. in my opinion there is no fighting game that can challenge Tekken, but is just my opinion.

 

:thumbup: But must change vertical frequency from 144Hz or 120Hz to 60Hz and enable v-sync.

 

It is not this one for sure. In the first ever and only fight I did, mashing the keyboard, I got an ultra awesome combo (no idea how) and my final grade for the fight was AWESOME too.

Man, how come this game weigh 20/30+Go lol. It's no where near The Division as far as i can tell. Am i missing something? lol

 

Tried it. It ran well (60hz monitor) but the gameplay was weird. I pressed a few buttons and the character did a 12 or whatever combo. Must've been the assist but it still felt too much like Street Fighter. Can't say I care for this.

 

Is it me or does that User Interface look like a Heroes of the Storm Ripoff?
