OK I understood when you had to defend 690 vs Titan. 690 is proly the best dual ever built, but also - if given a choice 90% of people would chose Titan. But nvm... but now you're _REALLY stretching it. spoiler bellow Spoiler
Geez, dunno what to do!Should I go from a GTX 680 OC SLI to a GTX 780?I game on 1080p. Whats u opinion guys?
I know it isn't everything but the improved cooling does mean the GTX 780 loses its premium looks with the glowing logo on the side and all that.
That's what I've done. I play games at 1920x1200 (and may even buy a new 1080p monitor). I guess you have to ask yourself if you're happy with SLI or not. I felt that SLI was a waste for me at 1920x1200 and v-synced 60 fps plus I've been getting annoyed by games lately that require me to disable SLI because they don't work in single GPU mode (e.g. Book of Unwritten Tales, Trials Evolution, Zack Zero and so on). I think only about 20-25% of the games I play actually benefit from SLI and then not all of them need it as they'd run at 60 fps anyway so I'm more than happy to switch back to a more powerful single GPU card. I may even use my old GTX 580 as a PhysX card, we'll see.
SLI support really that bad, i know a friend of mine owns a 690 he has in TERA negative scaling e.g. but that only 20-25% games are really working great with SLI thats just wow :3eyes:
Thats because those con artists at clockers have listed all their in stock models at £599. Scan always follow suit and up their prices to match. Good quick buy on your part !!@
Yes and no. I personally don't have a problem with it. And if I do run into a game that doesn't support it, I just disable SLI via NVCP.
Just ordered 2x EVGA GTX 780's to be delivered tomorrow <3 Can't believe shops stocked them so fast but its actually happening =D Gonna sell my Titan on ebay and make back most of the money I just spent too but end up with almost twice the performance. Win
I only play BF3 and Diablo3 and waiting for BF4.I would really like to buy a GTX 780 but I think that in BF4 I`ll be better whit the GTX 680 SLI,until Maxwell.
That is the more sensible option obviously but if you have money to spare you could buy a GTX 780 now and another later on when Battlefield 4 is released (if you need it). It depends on much you want a new card really. After all no-one really needs to buy a GTX 780.
A year from now? I could use a 780 for a year. Sold! Sadly not that easy. I'll have to think about it some more.
Nice card, too expensive. I'm waiting to see what comes out over the next year thats under £400, going on £600 is silly. ps very informative review, cheers. I miss CPU performance graphs though, having them on the most CPU intense games would be really useful.
