Look, considering amd's drivers stability, mgpu problems and the thermal failure on r9 200 series, well, gtx titan ultra or 780 ti black edition whatever it will be called the next nvidia's top weapon is a by far a superior choice. :)

I have systems with both Red and Green right now, and have for years --- the whole "drivers suck for x or z" is just hyped up drivel anno 2013. By and large, both sides are just fine right now and most problems that you read about are when new games come out that are released without sufficient quality control and testing. Wait an extra month to play that "awesomesauce new game dudebro" and such problems tend to disappear. :rpg:

Its not like the 290x really puts out that much heat is just the blower on it sucks and the tdp isn't really that much more then the 780ti at load its maybe 20w. Nvidia just has a nice stock cooler I actually like the style more than any aftermarket cooler.

Until you can tri-SLI or tri-CrossfireX such cards, I honestly don't see why anyone would bother with such a most probably downclocked card rather than having two single cards in SLI or CfX.

This would be the first single card (x^n gpus) really usable for 4K gaming at 60+ FPS!! Great timing as I just saw a 4K TV claimed at 100 HZ for 1K USD locally!

We just need Nvidia to join the epeen contest with 790 Ti (Dual GPU 780 Ti SLI on a single card) for the King of 4K crown!

Bring it out right before winter so all gamers can save on their heating bills. :D

1000$ for a 4k res monitor is still way too much, even the 1440p screens should be cheaper by now.

I really hope they've designed a sealed-liquid-nitrogen-ultimate-gpu-cooler to calm the temperatures of this beast down...highly unlikely, but would be awesome though..lol.

This Seiki costs 1200+ USD but is 30 HZ @ 4K.

The one I saw was 50" 4K x 2K res @ 100 HZ. Konka LED50x9600UE for 1K USD. Its coming down but the one I saw is not in the states yet.

Screen was beautiful with build in Android OS but we still need something like this card or 780 Ti SLI on a stick to push it for gaming.

Can you link me to info about the Konka and 4K 100Hz? Couldn't find much.

Here you go but its in Asia. The price is in RMB so do the USD conversion on the web. It will come out sooner or later to the west.

Note - there is a 65", and 84" (freaking amazing) but I did not see it side by side next to a Sharp or Sony 4K screen. That was way expensive ~ 13K USD for it.

At 50" it was super sharp @ 4K native. The built in Android OS was running at 4k. To get an idea how sharp it is, think how a 22"-24" 1080p screen looks vs a 36"+ TV.

This was the shop that I saw it at locally with translated specs:

    Resolution: 3840*2160 refresh rate: 120Hz
typical brightness: 420nits minimum brightness: 330nits
    response time: 6ms contrast: 1600:1
    horizontal viewing angle: 178 degrees
    vertical viewing angle: 178 degrees

Note the built in scaler sucks per local reviews. Its some android device in there (don't know the specs) so you really need one of these cards to do it justice.

The store demo I saw was fairly sharp with a bluray or DVD upscaler.

Too bad I don't know of any portable 4K HDMI 1.4 output device to test it in store.

PM me if you have questions or start another thread. :D
