Thanks for getting back to me guys, will try these. Well done AMD if they really fixed that. Didn't take long.

Yep, found it, 99% gpu usage, constant.

Looks like i'll be going back to something else else I want mad noise, temps and power usage.

So this doesn't implement frame-pacing on dx9 and OpenGL?

There will be performance improvements for games released since 13.4 that have had profiles programmed into the drivers, but as far as general performance is improved it probably won't be a significant difference.
Personally I'm not seeing any problems on the latest 13.8 BETA 2 driver with my single 7950 though so I don't see any reason NOT TO install it :p

I think that's more a crossfire thing, this is a dual gpu laptop (ie intel and amd).

Going to 13.6 beta 2 fixed it, so it's definitely a problem in the 13.8 beta 2 notebook drivers (saw many more posts on notebookreview forums saying the same as me, one guy made a fix but it was 200mb downloading at 15kb/sec).

Shame, would have liked the saints row 4 performance boost, maybe 13.8b3 will fix this.

Temps are way down, from 99% usage in desktop and 80 degrees C in idle desktop down to 0% usage and 40 degrees C.

I have the feeling the full clock / memory constant bug, come from GPU-z when ULPS is enabled. ( on desktop anyway )

    ULPS On:

    > MSI afterburner dont report second gpu monitoring, its normal the gpu is hybernate. I close it.

    > I open GPU-z, full clock + 99%, i open now again MSI afterburner, second gpu is now monitored and full clock is reported... )

    > I close GPU-Z keeping MSI afterburner monitoring on, clock speed and memory goes back to 0mhz on MSI afterburner, temps goes back to normal. system act normally, the second card is going back to hybernation.

    ULPS disabled:

    - Both GPU operate normally. ( on both MSI, Trixx, overdrive monitoring, and GPU-z )..

I suspect GPU-z is waking up the second card with the sensors monitoring, creating this bug... Need more test anyway.

    You wold be surprised.

Disabling ULPS on my single 7970 fixes a whole bunch of things.

Ran 3DMark, 3DMark11 and Vantage with these drivers.
All score the same as the 13.8B which in turn does better at these benches than 13.5B2.
So to me they appear the same as the 13.8B with some added fixes.
    So far so good.

No surprise that it doesn't have Windows 8.1 support, especially since Windows 8.1 hasn't been released or even RTM'd yet.

Hopefully these drivers reliably wake up from sleep. It's been hit or miss whether my system will resume whenever I update from 13.4 stable.

Stupid question... Is frame pacing only for CrossfireX? Cause i dont see anything in the menu to turn it on or off...

It is not stupid. The option is only available for CFX systems.

go to hell amd, 2nd time with no windows 8.1 support

i am going nvidia soon, i am tired with weak companies and such bad support

it's summer time and vacations resting, you are nothing but a mere company and you will not sacrifice my precious time to make me format and get me back to windows 8.

pathetic, your rival nvidia have windows 8.1 support in all latest drivers since forever i suppose your catalyst programmers are 1 click down in knowledge, what a pity, rofl.!

    rage mode : off
