The gtx is the 2 gb version and the vendor say to me it can boost at 1465 mhz.... The HD7970 have accelero and it's too silent it overclock at 1150 mhz, not more. So any suggestion? please explian why one and not other. Thanks
For 3GB and silence pick that AMD, for 1465mhz(or not) go Nvidia. Personally i prefer Nvidia drivers, and you get physx/Cuda.But if you are just into gaming then the Amd is also a good choice.
The vendor is lying to you about it hitting 1465Mhz if it did that was in a bench with the voltage over 1.4.
hm... i start to think it too... 1465 it's crazy.... anyway gtx 680 it's better for gaming? 2 gb it's too smalll?
They are both great cards check some bench marks for the games you play and see which one consistently performs better.
You have the card in your sig? If so keep it. Crazy going from a 7970 to 680 or vice versa. As for the vender knowing what the cards max clock is telling me its not new and sealed. Go to the store and ask to see the 1465 boost and at what voltage. The amd card sounds like its voltage locked if it does not go higher than that. If used pay a used price
If you are using one 1080p display, get card which comes cheaper. Beacause on this resolution 2GB vs 3 GB does not matter much. While I would believe OC limit of HD7970 with accelero (my GPU has max 61°C at 1050MHz full burn test). That GTX680 clocks are BS. They will probably have very similar performance based on game. Yes, Accelero makes nearly no noise even at 80% speed. But while gaming you will likely not notice it. Because it will just add some minor background noise into environment of game. I do not consider CUDA/PhysX as valid reason to chose nV as PhysX made hurt to gaming evolution more than anything did in last decade & CUDA has no use for normal PC users.
it's a second hand card a gtx 680 with 4 gb at 1300 mhz it's more fast thana hd7970 1150 mhz? i dunno what to do really
i have the HD7970 1150 mhz and 1575 on memory, this guy wan to sell me a gtx 680 that clock at 1300, and another guy the gtx 680 2 gb with 1465 mhz boost...
I don't know why you're even considering this, unless you're considering going crossfire it's pointless to get anything. That and the guy claiming his 680 boosts to 1465 is full of ****.
^ Not if its hard modded or has a voltage tweak to take it over 1.4V. Still OP I would stay away from that one. My advice just keep what you have. The 1300 is most likely 1293-1306 boost clock and that is most likely BIOS flashed for the 1.212v.
the "problem" is with my HD7970 i can stay at 1100 full stable, so a gtx 680 1300 mhz i think it's much better
