We review the Club3D Radeon HD 6870 X2. A dual-GPU Barts based graphics card. AMD had nothing to do with this design this is a custom design product. Admittedly we just love that stuff. So we'll head...

Can the Crossfire adapter be used for tri/quad-fire?

    there people with 6990 x 2 + 6970, so why not.

Great review as always, thanks a lot. Yeah, pricing is weird, but I guess it was also aimed for 2xcrossfire?

Since they relies on AMD for Crossfire support in drivers. I don't think so (for quad-fire). And the review did talked about adding a "3rd". So that concludes that "number one and two" are on this single card.
Sweet product, too bad of the slightly higher prices. If it was (slightly) lesser than 2 HD6870 it would be a killer product.

Because regular 6800 GPUs are limited to 2 in Crossfire.

It looks very interesting, feels like an great option if i want to pair my 6870 with it :)
I hope the prices go down a bit, because right now I could pick up a second 6870 for as low as 150 euros.

This is clearly not a regular 6800 GPU. It is extremely likely that it will support tri and quad-fire, otherwise they wouldn't have added a crossfire tab on the card

Would this card be able to do triple eyefinity @ 1080p @ 120hz per monitor? That would be sick.

Pardon me for being stupid but wouldn't 3 or 4 of these cards mean 6 & 8 gpus respectively and thus not supported? Or do people mean one 6870 X2 along with a single gpu 6870 to make tri fire?

    I was thinking of 6870X2 + 6870 for tri-fire, or 2x 6870X2 for quad-fire.

yeah, they still have only 1 Crossfire connector, but this time you have 2 GPUs instead of one.

Great review. but i would still request to include 5000 series cards in modern dx11 games like crysis 2.

55 frames in crysis 2 !! The card is very powerfull. I'm getting 50 with my 5970 card which has 1000+ shadder processors more than this card !!!

I want to see a video comparison in Crysis 2, ultra settings, full DX11 full textures "on" between the GTX 590 and this comparatively inexpensive multi-gpu Option. The real test will be in Quad-fire mode for both which Crysis 2 supports, if it looks stellar (which it should) I think I will buy 2 of these instead of two gtx 590's.

    6870x2 better than gtx580

Looks like according to these crysis 2 benchmarks khttp://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2335396#post2335396

That even the mighty gtx 580 can drop to 1.8 fps in crysis 2, not surprising, crysis 2 at ultra is a beast to run without frame dragging, smearing, frame dropping, and jumpiness seen in MANY video cards. So on the low end you got the 1 FPS in crysis 2 seen during the review, but that's not far from the 1.8 seen on the above benchmark. Haha! if you look closely that's a benchmark for 2 GTX 580's in Sli!! I see that 2 580's do have a higher top end FPS, but the low end matches the review results of the 6780x2. I'd say there's not much difference there except in price.

aaand it beats the gtx 580 by 5 fps here: http://www.guru3d.com/article/club3d-radeon-hd-6870-x2-review/17

Someone should make a list of gpu's that can't handle Crysis 2 so we'll all know what not to buy. (futureproofing)

According to online posts I have been reading from overclocking, hardware fanatics, two of these 6870x2's ($1040) will beat a 6990 ($780-$1200) hands down in quadfire not to mention what they could do with proper watercooling and tweaking.

If the price for each 6870x2 were $375 they would kill the price per performance point of the gtx 590 by blowing it out of the water.

    BOOM!

Now I can't wait to see a 2x6870x2 review vs well- everything!
