Hey guys. just a few days ago, I updated my "Intel(R) C220 series chipset SATA AHCI Controller" driver and since then my RST service is not running. I tried to download and update the latest version of RST through this page: https://communities.intel.com/exter...d-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-?product=55005 but neither RST nor Optane work for me, it just says "This platform is not supported" and I can't install anything. what should I do? I7 4790K 1TB HDD Seagate 8GB RAM ASUS B85 PLUS any help will be appreciated.
Latest supported version for Z87 and Z97 boards are https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...d-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-?product=55005
You can ask here http://www.win-raid.com/forum.php Either create thread or go to http://www.win-raid.com/t2f23-Intel-RST-RSTe-Drivers-newest-v-WHQL-v-WHQL.html
Unless you use Raid, RST really is unnecessary. The only benefit is you can disable LPM on SSDs for speed boost. I would install driver only and remove the RST program from add/remove programs. Latest version is here. Update via device manager, then uninstall RST program.
Thanks guys. I downloaded the correct version using the posts above. my version was already the same so I repaired it. The problem is that whenever I update driver, RTS disables and whenever I repair RTS, driver downgrades somehow and I can update it again by using driver update in device manager. it seems these two are not supporting each other anymore. so in your opinion is it safe to remover RTS completely? if I don't update driver and only use RTS, my pc becomes super slow, and hard usage 100% problems occur.
red00 which version of Windows? If Win10 you can rollback to default MS drivers. As Agent-A01 said you don`t need full RST package if you run SATA in AHCI mode (not in RAID one).
