Try right clicking on the desktop and see if you get an NVidia control panel option.

Interesting thing, these are the same branch as the ones that came with the new Windows releases. Not the same from the last WHQLs.

Nvidia control panel crashes, right click on desktop context. Windows 7 64-bit. Has been broken in the last 4 versions. Last known good 378.92.

Anyone test any games for the DX12 performance boosts claimed in the Release Notes?

I notice Gears of War 4 doesn't have the stutter issue I was having here and there in the last driver. I DDU'd before installing this one. This also seemed to fix an issue with Shadowplay recording a constant mic static audio, even with the mic turned off in settings, even though I was already using the same version of Shadowplay. It's an issue that comes and goes throughout versions though, maybe I have to just ALWAYS DDU like I use to do every version.

I'm just awaiting UWP support for Shadowplay now, since they have the Vulkan and Windowed Mode support for other games. I'd like to be able to record Gears without having to remember to manually turn Desktop Mode on/off each time.

DSR in Forza Horizon 3 seemed to stop working with these drivers. Just last night, I played with a 4K DSR that seemed to work beautifully. With these, the resolution is visible and selected but there's a noticeable increase in jaggies. Then I tried running my native 1440p and it's exactly the same.

Tray Icon belongs to Geforce Experience.

No idea why anyone would want that installed.

Game recording/streaming to my Shield TV and broadcasting. I use it as a "base-line" for optimizing my games as well.

I have no such issue, also running Win 10 CU and a GTX 1080.

I should think so too, how do bugs like these get through testing?

LOL Come'on i wasnt born yesterday, the CP is inaccessible via desktop or via other means. It just wouldn't open and the right click didn't contain it anyway.

Anyway, everything's up with experience 100% of the time. I will have to endure this for now.

You may have the same issue as me.

I have 3 display devices enabled.
If all 3 of them are mirrored (and very occasionally 2), enabling DSR will prevent NVidia control panel from opening until I use the windows display tools to disable all but one display.
DSR doesnt work when this happens.

If control panel is still open I can disable DSR or disable a display/change a display to extended and the problem wont happen.
It is entirely dependent on sometimes 2, always 3 displays being mirrored and DSR being enabled at the same time.

    fyi

I didn't say that you were. I installed a 1060 this past weekend for my daughter on w10 cu and noticed that the tray icon was missing also. I did a little research (forgot where ) and found that it didn't show up anymore and it could be accessed by right clicking the desktop. For me , it could. This was with the last certified drivers before this one and it did not include GeForce experience. Hope you get it fixed. You could make a desktop shortcut to the NVidia cpl in the meantime.

This is for R381 release in general, not for this driver specifically.

In Win10 1703 you have to reboot after applying the DSR settings in NV CPL for the games to see them.
