i have decided upgrade the mobo, cpu, ram after this discussion about bottleneck: forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=376712 here's what i have chosen : * core i3 3210. * gigabyte ga h61m d2h. * corsair 8gb 1333mhz value ram. * asus gtx 650 ti boost dc2. what do you think?
did you visit the link i posted in my original post: forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php? t=376712 its just only for a year. and would'nt it be better than q8200+6gb ddr2+gtx 650ti boost? please reply:
i5 or nothing. No point in going from a quad core to a dual core. Get a 650ti boost and hold out until you can buy proper CPU mobo ram.
As others have said, the i3 is not the way to go. In this day and age, any way you spin it, a dual core is not a good idea.
thank you everyone. i have decided to try to oc my cpu one last time or wait till i have enough money for an i5 or an i7 but never an i3. thank you again.
Just remember to overclock via the fsb, and adjust the memory multiplier back as required (as raising the FSB raises the memory speed). You should be able to hit 400fsb easily! You can go higher, but may mean you need to reduce the multiplier and be worried about heat.
1+ 5850 is still good + by the time its slow new cards will be out and current stuff will be cheap. And you wont ever have a cpu bottleneck i5 vs i3 there is no comparison in games.
I disagree about the i3 vs i5 in games, some of the latest titles are showing the benefits of a quad core. Remember that if games get ported over from the 'Xbox Next' (which is believed to run on a quasi-Windows system), multi-core will become very important, especially considering improved graphics will most likely come from heavier processing and post-processing, CPU and GPU intensive tasks. Remember reviews from even a year ago won't represent the very latest titles, and certainly not future 'next gen' titles.
