+10% general boost, (+12% GPU, 1.6% CPU boost), not bad even for a 2012 architecture.

    Thanks for posting this.

    You should tell AMD! :D

AMD itself approves Turanis statement, it recommends 16.12.2 over 17.2.1 (optional):

I think that is because the 17 isn't whql yet. I got the same thing with rx480 when updating to 17.2.1

Exactly, 16.2.2 are the last WHQL certified drivers.

@sammarbella: You are still trying to find something...

    I guess you mean 16.12.2...

No thanks, i like U2 music but i found what i was looking for. :D

Last time (1 month ago) i let Windows 10 install GPU drivers automatically it installed 16.6!

At that time, yes 16.12.2 was better. Now I played with 17.2.1 and it works better. :)

I know you have problems with your CFX setup, but take a look at newest drivers (forget about Win 10 if you are on it).

Well, i use Windows 10 and i don't think AMD drivers will work any better (specially for DX12 games. :D ) on Windows 8 or 7 or in relation with AfterBurner OC.

Yes, newest drivers have obviously more games support (including the latest ones) but in my case that doesn't compensate for the loss of stable GPU timings.

I will mod my GPU BIOS with fixed timing and voltage, this is the only solution i see for my GPUs and newest drivers, until then 16.11.5 and AfterBurner are my temporal "solution".

Did an upgrade to this driver using the Relive Control Panel in the last two days...

~10 instances of non-recoverable, instance black screens while browsing the web, requiring hard reset of PC.

Others too, or my special gift?

No black screens here but when I let the driver upgrade via the control panel a few days ago, the install took quite a while to finish and also failed to actually install the control panel

used DDU and installed fresh and no more issues.

I am also using Windows 10 15031 insider version, probably best drivers for a while here after that

I did not use the control panel to upgrade, and I did not use this specific version of the drivers for very long.
With that said, I have a 390 like you, and the relive drivers before 17.1.1 gave me the black screens you described. They started with the first Relive drivers for me, and ended with 17.1.1.

No problems like that here, and I use Firefox for browsing.

you should ask why AMD don't like you:D

Yes these are good for gcn 1.0 users, yes they still have idle bug, just use restart64.exe and move on...

Nah, AMD couldn't care less about me...

...but it should care more about other 290(X) customers that are still possibly interested in buying his GPU cards again despite the last years drivers lack of performance and current loss of OC.

Looks like with last drivers Tonga HDMI driver audio bug that slows down the entire kernel timings (at least when not using HDMI to transport audio) .-.
Temporal solution: disable the Tonga HDMI driver via task manager and then reboot (Disabling the device output in the audio control panel doesn't help).

    annoying bug/issue/scaling.

    I have 21:9 monitor

I have vsr working. but when returning to native resolution. scaling mode is not resetting the screen. and I stuck with blurry or small image on the screen.

tested with gpu scaling on and off no effect.

I have to go to scaling mode and change it to something else and windows scales back to the current setting.

Im putting the blame on windows 10 scaling...

My machine can't hold 125 fps in Overwatch (lowest details) with 17.2.1, reverted back to 17.1.1 and all's well.
