Damn! :eek2::eek2::eek2::eek2: 149€... 9800GTX performance ... I'm ... don't know ... where's my piggybank? Great review btw. But I'm still stunned by this performance and most of all performance/price level. That's amazing! Oh well, this'll be my new card! Thank god I had no money when I wanted to buy a 8800GT some weeks ago Oh, I eagerly await a CrossfireX review (gotta love four of those in one rig :banana. Allready in sight?
The HD4850 512 GDDR3 sells here in Holland for around €150. I found one at a store and it would cost me €166 including shipping. There will be 2 versions of the 4850: The GDDR3 and the GDDR5 one.
Definately... the graphics card market really needs competition like this. And having such great performance at these prices really helps PC gaming as a whole. It means ordinary people can get into it, and have a really great experience without spending 6 months income on a GPU! LOL!
It's a bit too late IMHO, with their victory in the High/Very High end. You would expect them to NOT release a card that is just a bigger version of the previous ones, same GDDR memory gen, same manufacturing size. Lower core speed. Damn I had that GTX 280 in my wish list for months, thank god it's not santa that brought it or I would've been disappointed Will be buying two 4870 in crossfire, along with a new PSU and 4 GB of ram (already got a fan controller coming in the mail) and I'm pretty sure that the two 4870 will be nuking a single GTX 280
tbh im seriously considering ati this round the performance price ratio is a killer really cba paying prices like 530€ for some more fps when i can get 60+ or so in almost any game i play with 160€
Man, I already said 4850 in Greece is 149 euros + 3 years warrantee @ normal shops (!) http://www.plaisio.gr/product.aspx?catalog=20&category=69977735&product=1136089 There you go, the best Pc shop in Greece.
Thanks! Here, I have found some leaked 4870 3-way CrossfireX benches http://i29.tinypic.com/2zs7inl.jpg
If the hd 4870 does hit the market here in europe in good numbers for around £200/€350 I can't see nvidia enjoying what's left of the summer, the consumer sure will.
OMG, screw nvidia, i got 9800GTX in sli, and i just recently sold my 9800GTX, GOOD THING I SOLD IT EARLY BECAUSE i would have ogtten less money form selling, I will wait for 4870X2 instead of crossfire, it will work with my motherboard right? thanks
