    Ok to fill some gaps:

9 (yes that is the name and it is stunning and a bit depressing)
    Puss in Boots
    Wreck it Ralph
    Free Bird
Open Season (there are 3 parts I think)

Some of them are a bit older, but still very good and of course most of what is mentioned above is really good too.

I know it's been mentioned, but Frozen is pretty amazing. It's like a musical, with many great songs and good graphics and character design. The story is nice, too, not overly dramatic or serious, perfect for watching with family. Definitely recommended.

Frozen and Brave are pretty cool, + Wall-E.

    Definitely this:
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Not the greatest of animation films, but stunning too look at.

    From recently?

From Up on Poppy Hill is absolutely fantastic, but then it is Studio Ghibli and Hayao and Goro Miyazaki. I've not seen a Ghibli that I didn't enjoy, story, music and visuals. But, if I'm being completely honest, I prefer many of the older Ghibli films for their visuals over the modern as I feel there is more detail in the painted cells rather than computer-drawn animation. There is a phenomenal amount of detail in the Blu-ray versions of the films even if they are from decades before "HD" came along. But, perhaps I am also biased in just loving the whimsical world Miyazaki created in movies like Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and such.

Don't misunderstand, I love movies like Up and Despicable Me and such too. But, I really do miss some of these older animations and many have gotten excellent HD versions. American cartoons too, like The Great Mouse Detective looks fantastic in Blu-ray. Plus, Vincent Price just makes it a blast. The trick is just making sure they used a good master for the Blu-ray version. Some films, like 2001: A Space Odyssey were filmed in 70mm which actually holds higher resolution detail than even 1080p and will see gains even with future conversions even though the film itself is 56 years old now, albeit the special effects might come out worse for wear.

If you're talking 3D animations then all the Toy Storys would be the place to start

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Too many to choose from and judging from screens from google images, many seem fantastic. :)

Monsters VS Aliens is a good movie, and I also enjoyed Bee Movie.

+1 for Wall-E though, easily my fave Pixar movie.

We saw 'Finding Nemo' last night. Considering it's from 2003 it looked breathtaking. Excellent visuals and colours and I quite liked it.

    Didn't know that, now I do. :)

Shrek & Shrek 2 came to mind. I've obviously heard of Shrek but never seen it.

Two animated movies with excellent graphics have been mentioned already:
Tintin and Legend of the Guardians (great movie too with an excellent story!)

Another is Space Pirate Captain Harlock. It's Japanese.

Here's some screen caps I took:
