I run my 7970 and 7950 at 1000 they can run 1050 no prob just a little hot and this gives me enough performance. Since you have a single card I would push it higher.

try again without msaa in ccc, although I don't think that 8xmsaa you applied in ccc works in 3dmark11. I score around 9800 with my 7950@ 1125/1425 which is about as fast as hd7970ghz. just to give you a comparison.

I agree with eclap, I don't think 3dmark11 uses the CCC settings. At my clocks on my 7950 I typically hit 10,100 for the GPU score.

yeah, if 3dmark11 used that 8xmsaa setting from ccc it would have scored a lot less than that. your score of 9355 is normal for a slightly oced hd 7970. The Asus hd 7970 (1100/1650) in THIS review scores 9223p, a reference hd 7970ghz scores 8647p and a reference hd 7970 scores 7924p. Those are scores with an inferior cpu to yours but then you outperform the ghz version from that test by quite a margin so seems like your gpu is performing spot on.

Results came out the same with 8x msaa disabled in ccc. This is very puzzling if there is nothing wrong with GPU. I am quite convinced that Crysis 1 is underperforming on my system given this benchmark...

in addition to the videos that I have linked in my original post. I am under the impression the Crysis 1 during gameplay should be running on my system more in line with the users whose videos I linked in my original post. My system is performing is not performing as well as the hd 7970's in the benchmark or the linked videos. I tried everything I could possibly think of on my end including dropping MSAA to 4x and resolution to 1080p (which is the same resolution as the users in the linked videos were claiming to using) and performance is still not there. I sadly cannot run the Crysis 1 GPU benchmark under my Steam copy of the game with any 3rd benchmarking tools.

there's seems to be nothing wrong with your card, your benchmark scores sit where they should from what I've seen so far. That means the card is performing fine.

There's also an internal benchmark. IIRC it can be launched by a batch file somewhere in the Crysis directory. If the benchmark is missing in the Steam version you can also use the demo.

Here are the results for the GPU benchmarks for the Crysis 1 demo and the full version of Crysis Warhead 64-bit. Tests were executed multiple times using 4x MSAA and 8x MSAA all at 1920x1200 resolution and Max graphics settings

    Crysis 1 Demo GPU Benchmark:

    52.1 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    46.8 fps w/ 8x MSAA

    Crysis Warhead GPU Benchmark

    Frost-

    52 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    52.4 fps w/ 8x MSAA

    Airfield-

    61.5 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    61.6 fps w/ 8x MSAA

    Ambush-

    52.4 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    52.6 fps w/ 8x MSAA

    Avalanche-

    48.4 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    49.3 fps w/ 8x MSAA

    Cargo-

    48.4 fps w/ 4x MSAA
    49 fps w/ 8x MSAA

If the Crysis 1 demo bench you have run is the normal one (not Assault Harbor), then that seems low. I get 67FPS avg @4xMSAA, I believe. Slightly lower at 8xMSAA. 7970 @1125MHz.

I think you might have supersampling still on? Reinstall drivers after clean uninstall by Atiman.

Supersampling was turned off in Catalyst Control Center when the tests were run. I already tried a clean reinstall of my drivers via the AMD CleanInstall Utility only to find no difference in Crysis 1 performance. I don't know if the Crysis 1 demo benchmark used is either assualt harbour or the normal benchmark. What are the differences between the two aside from performance? All I know is that I went to the directory for the Crysis 1 demo on my hard drive and ran the Benchmark_GPU.bat file found in the Bin64 folder.
