You're hitting the limit of the HDMI interface.

Standard Nv downsampling (adding new resolution) is somewhat blury compared to native resolution (it use bilinear resampling). With "gedosato" tool I tried "lanczos" resampling and picture quality is just stunning, everything is sharp (textures in the distance are even sharper compared to just native) and there's no aliasing at all :). Hope that DSR in new Nv drivers will work similar, because gedosato only works with dx9 games (for now):wanker:

    EDIT:

I was able to go a little higher,3424x1926. I'm using an audioquest cinnamon hdmi cable and i have sound too. Settings follow if anyone wants to try:
    3424 1926
    60Hz 32bit
    1920 1080
    48 3
    32 6
    2100 1208
    Positive Negative

I could still not manage to get sound @ 3360x1890 or 3840x2160, unfortunately. :bang:

Can I get some help downsampling?

I followed the steps shown here and I am getting a slight blurriness, like there is a ghost of the image offset to the right by a few pixels.

It doesn't matter what I do to the timings, if I change to any resolution larger than the native, it gets this ghost/pixel shift.

    Any ideas?

I've used DSR from nVIDIA and some games it messes the HUD, becoming too small.

Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2 are an example, any idea how to fix this? Thanks

In the OP it says... "make sure your scaling options are set as so"

But if we can't change to "GPU scaling" and only option available is "Display scaling" ?

With my 780ti connected to my Samsung 46C8000 with dvi-hdmi adapter,
i can only choose "display scaling"... never had the "GPU scaling" option available..

Anybody knows why and how to fix it ?

    Thanks.

probably due to the cable and port combination.

I wish it was that, but its not.
The same happens if i connect by hdmi cable.
Probably its something about some imcompatibility with the Edid of the Samsung Lcd Tv.
Already tryed to connect to other of the 4 hdmis of the tv, i have game mode active, but nothing activates on the nvidia control panel the gpu scaling, only display scaling, so i cant do downsampling...

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393608

They already have the DSR working on series 600, 700...
but it seems is not working in sli for everybody...

Tested with my 780ti on Alien Isolation at 4K and works perfect...

Maybe there is some fix to my problem here and I dont have time right now to read all pages here:

I want to downsample games and I got 1920x1080 native res screen with 120hz and im using blurbusters Benq utility thing to get less blur.

So im using that custom resolution thing but with this DSR you cant have custom resolutions so should I just make some 4k res custom resolution with 120hz?

If someone could tell how do I downsample with 120hz screens that are using that blurbusters utility.

Just got new gfx card so I really want to downsample but not use my 60hz screen for that.

Now owning a GTX970, don't know if it's DSR or not but i can down sample 5K (4800*2700) on my 1600*900 resolution monitor. Feels (and looks) nice :)

Just curious, anyone got this feature to work with id tech 5 based games. Wolf the new order, and Evil within I can't seem to get to work. When I select the higher res I can only see a small portion of the screen.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying this new feature. Love how I can just select the higher res if I want to use it instead of having to set it up game, by game.

Will Downsampling work on old games that render graphics with the CPU?

    Hello to everyone,

There is an old jet fighter combat simulator from 1997 that I really like to fly. It is called Jane's Fighters Anthology. The simulator was made by Electronic Arts.

The graphics are jagged. There is no anti-aliasing in this simulator. I run it in 800 x 600 resolution. The maximum resolution that you can select in the sim is 1024 x 768.

I tried the AA feature with my ATI Radeon HD 5450 card, but it had no affect on the sim at all.

Is it possible to use downsampling for Fighters Anthology in order to blend the pixels?

Here is an article I just read:

"Aliasing Be Gone: How To Downsample PC Game Graphics"

[ I am not allowed to post the link]

    Thanks very much,

    Chris
