    so what happens from here assuming they do get to 7nm and 5nm?

    maybe they need to work on implementing other technology's to bring in faster performance and longer battery life like DDr4 memory controllers instead of DDr2 and better firmware and more complex architectures. last but not least is a new SATA standard because the current one has been bottlenecked for the last 3yrs and is do for an upgrade!

    Graphene would be the next logical step and after that Diamond! maybe?

    By lower endurance what does it mean precisely and by how much? And compared to what or which other flash memory?

    ^is it that easy to synthasize diamond , i mean simple enough to produce in a large scale? I don't know, just asking.

    They wouldn't need as much as you think, so production wouldn't be what I would call "large scale". But the answer to your question is yes.

    Graphene first" then Diamond later!

    id say in about 50yrs but with certain components using Diamond and others using Graphene kind of like how gold and other metals are used for more efficient quality parts because there more conductive for a much longer life span of microprocessors. Pure Diamond based processors will come much later.

    ^u are expressing these possibilities with such a confidence. I hope u and i would visit this thread 50yrs later with diamond pc or whatever tech the pc would run on.

    Natural diamond is both too costly and too impure to use in processors (yes, natural diamond is impure, it's the impurities that give them their colour etc).
