I must agree with every other guy in here.. This is def the best looking custom made from scratch computer i've seen in my life. Its big and you have a lot of space to work with since your using a whole desktop as a case. Love "Hazardous" creepy looking coolant as well. Its just a WIN.

I wish I was a handyman. I can't cut metal and do all that stuff you did lol.

Grats again man! you deserve the Rig of the month hands down! no doubt. Thanks for sharing this work of art.

For almost 2 years, I have been visiting GURU 3d and just last year i search all of GURU 3ds ROM winners, then I followed every ROM winner since.

BUt this one is something great!!
I just cant watch , now I joined the forum just to comment on this masterpiece of yours.. ^_^

    I really loved your d3sk !!!

I had thought of building a desk PC before but don't know how to and where to start., but your masterpiece is just too great! It inspired me a lot..

My only problem is, I'm not a handyman like you .. haha

Your masterpiece deserves to be Rig of the year 2011.!!

LOL I have been looking at your gallery for 2 days now, Its soooo beautiful..!

Hopefully I could make one just like yours soon..

Thanks again a lot for the compliments guys !

You guys should just start one yourself, it's a very good learning project.
It was my first scratch pc too, you really don't need that much tools and handyness once you've got the square bottom :p

I still can't get over how insane this is. Best I've ever seen, if I win the lottery I'm flying you out here to build me one. Anyway one question, the water cooling 'blocks' on the HDDs are just for show essentially as they have such little contact area (horizontal to vertical) they can't really have any practical use?

    Thanks!
If i win the lottery this week You'll get this one for free :p

The waterblocks for the HDD's certainly make a difference.
Since the fans inside the desk only run on 5V 600rpm i don't have much airflow.
It's also not even needed for the hardware, though the hdd's did reach temperatures of 45-50 degrees. Also that's not a problem at all.
The blocks are for the looks, but the temperatures did go to 30-35 degrees just because they cool one side of the hdd.

May I ask; Roughly, how much did it cost to build the desk itself?

Well, it's been a truly indescribable modding year for me, and I wanted to close out this tremendous honor by thanking the following sponsors, friends and fans.
In case you missed it (pun intended), I somehow managed to scrape by extremely talented competition and pull some awards in the process.
It still makes me so proud, as the competition was refined and full of talent!

Bit-Tech Mod Of The Year and Guru3D Rig Of The Year
    Other achievements

As a bonus to the supportive community, I am sharing some unseen photos of the finished project.

After submitting this post, I will be focusing on my current casemod and company, Red Harbinger.
I have met some incredible people along the way with the L3p D3sk.
I know a lot of you were very interested in building or buying the L3p D3sk, and I am happy to announce we will be producing it for sale; the manufacture prototypes are being created as I type this final message.
As a founding member of Red Harbinger Inc., you can expect to see current and future builds (including the L3p D3sk) for actual purchase.
Again, thanks for all your support and feedback; I could not have done it without the strong support of the community!
