    Title say it all.

I am running Windows 8 Pro x64 and D3DOverrider will not launch.

No error messages, I just click and get the spinning wheel for a about a second then nothing.

A D3DOverrider process opens in the background (I checked with Task Manager) but no app.

Tried uninstalling and re-installing and a couple compatibility modes but no dice.
I have done some googling with no success.

    Is this a known issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yeap : /

Tried it a few times actually.

Driving me nuts because I NEED to get rid of the screen tearing in Metro 2033.

For me, while it starts up fine, it does not actually work in games.

Yeah I can't even get that far. I have seen a couple of fixes for that involving using Windows 7 compatibly on the .exe you are opening.

I just need to make Metro 2033 playable.

Yes, doesn't matter. At least in my case.

but late for answer but are you running setpoint from Logitech? If yes, make sure you load D3DOverrider *before* Setpoint. Otherwise, you'll have the 'no window' problem. Took me a while to find that out.

D3DOverrider no longer works for me on my new installation of Windows 8 Pro from June of this year when I built my new Haswell PC. However, it worked on my previous Core i7-920 PC which had the same version of Windows 8 Pro but D3DOverrider was already installed when I did the inplace upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium. I think that may be why it worked but it's only a guess.

D3DOverrider is running according to Task Manager but there is no system tray icon (even a hidden one) nor is there any way to access the user interface, meaning that while it is working for existing profiles (since I copied those over), I have no way to add new ones.

You don't need D3DOverrider for that anyway. Either enable the ingame v-sync option (it works perfectly for me) or, if that somehow doesn't work, force it in the NVIDIA control panel Metro 2033 game profile.

P.S. Run as Admin and Windows XP/7 compatibility do not work for me, besides which I never needed to use them before on my previous Windows 8 Pro installation prior to June.
