In the text you quoted, it says Sandy Bridge is unaffected in the very last sentence.
    Fix your thread title.

I read the official release. I would change the thread to title to "Intel 6 series chipset flaw discovered". SB is the cpu, CP is the chipset. You can't have one without the other yet though... One of those early adopter bewares.

That's good I like that one.

Still no one else seems to be covering this story yet so I don't know how true it is.

If it is though that would mean a motherboard recall from all manufacturers wouldn't it?

It would be nice if they said it was only the H67 chipsets,......:)

If intel stock went down a little because of this it might be a good idea to buy some stock now. When it starts going up again sell, sell, sell,.... :)

I don't mind returning my ASUS P8P67 Pro if I can make a buck or two off of the stock. I could make enough for the new intel hardware to be free,...or more,...LOL

Yep the whole thing. Can't do anything with a CPU if I don't have a mobo to put it in. They said volume shipments by April so Im' gonna wait...

"may degrade over time" keyword being MAY. that doesn't necessarily mean it will happen at all. just better to be safe than sorry i guess

I bought my Core i5 2500k and ASUS P8P67 Pro in a combo deal from Microcenter. So if I were returning I guess it would be EZ to return them both.

I wonder when they are going to stop selling these boards?

its only been a month that they were out so how long could they have tested it?
What would be better is if they said "it blow your sit up man!!!" :nerd:

The tech guy I spoke to (at my retailer - scan UK) just got off the phone to someone at Intel.... he said most users won't be affected for the life of the board (whatever that means).
So I doubt it'll be exploding anytime soon... just use it and enjoy it as you have been doing!
