    neither of them

It's better when you save the money for a 5900 nu or leadtek 5900lx which cost under 200 $ and they are modable (->5900u or 5950u) and so they are 3 times faster too.

what about a 5700U or a 9600Pro, you can get them for under £140. That would show a good improvement - i have a 5600, which i went to from a mx440 and that was pretty good.

ATI 9600 XT 128mb by GexCube, a crazy cheap and quality card, best card for the money.

    Of those 2 the 5200.

If getting a 5200 I would only recommend these

    http://www.msicomputer.com/product/vga/vga_detail.asp?model=FX5200-VTD128

    http://www.prolink.com.tw/2003/english/products/vga/FX/Geforcefx 5200-128M-TV-DVI-64bit.htm

The pro-link you would have to buy one that specified 128Bit!
Whatever you do buy one that specifies 128bit.

Problem today is many 128bit models are harder to find and most are now pushing the really cheap 64bit models. If you get one of these it will not be much if even worse performance than your MX. The better 5200s will be in the 80-$100 dollar range.

So it maybe best to stand clear and get the next big increase over what you have for the dollar and thats a 5200U for ~$95 and 5600U for ~$120. Stand clear of 5600XT also its junk.

Then of course it all depends on where you live and where you buy it from.

How much can u stretch your budget to? Neither of those cards are particularly worth buying imo.

    Though I am a Nvidia fan I would suggest u to buy a 9200. Its a bit faster than a 5200u

You must be talking about the 9200 pro, the regular 9200 is awful and can't even beat a fx5200.
