I have a Sapphire HD7850 1gb and I cant decide to go for another 7850 or sell the one I have and go for a single 7950? I have a Samsung 20 inch monitor 1680 x 1050 @60hz.
I'd say 1x 7950. overclocked 7950 will be faster than 7850 crossfire. Also you'll have more vram. I say sell your 7850 on ebay for like $70 each and get a 7950. Or a 7970/280x
The prices for the 7900 cards is nose diving, so I'd take eclaps advice and grab yourself a 7950 or 7970.
True enough, although you'd need a PSU update for it. Let us know what you think of the card, I absolutely love mine and thought it well worth the money at £240 when I bought my Sapphire Flexx.
A month go I was rocking a old Athlon x2 @2.6ghz with a gts 450 and 4 gb of ddr2 667 , so anything right now is a quantum leap. But being the nerd that I am , I keep finding lil things wrong with my current setup , just hungry for more...will it ever end? lol
That PSU should be enough, my OCZ ZS 550W has 38 amps on the 12v and runs this rig with OC's just fine. Your Rosewill looks to be a slightly stronger PSU.
Absolute killer deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202026 :biggun: That's what I paid for my 7870 like five months ago dammit.
That's not gonna happen. It will be same situation that your are in now... It's always better to have a single faster card.
1GB VRAM will limit you way before you realize the performance boost of a 7850 1GB CF setup. If you were rocking a 7850 2GB then it could be argued one way or another as both the 7850 and 7950 are overclocking champs (perhaps 7850 moreso than 7950 even), but this is a clear choice for the 7950.
WOW I cant believe how much these cards dropped in price , with these prices maybe ill just go for a 7970. again their dropping probably because a new line is about to release.
