Dota 2 with Vulkan is unplayable here, pretty sad considering it went from being better than DX11 to unplayable

"Performance patch" was just pushed out yesterday. I've got worse FPS on my R9 290x with lowest settings on 900p. Tried -dx11 and it's better. Haven't tried Vulkan yet.

Haven't noticed in SC2 and it's a DX9 game. I believe it's more of an issue of how WDDM2.2 handles these titles, than the driver itself. I might be wrong though. Are there similar reports in the NVIDIA subforums about WDDM 2.2 drivers?

Isn't there supposed to be a game ready driver for The Surge and Vanquish?

Not every game gets Game Ready drivers. Vanquish runs superb on current drivers, so does The Surge. Btw, The Surge sucks. It's a bit fun at the beginning, but it gets so repetitive after an hour or longer playing. I've expected so much more of that game, and I was really waiting for it to be released, but then I got dissapointed.

Due to the UVD bug I also keep a GT 240 1GB DDR3 just for web browsing/movie watching. And that, manages to play these games just fine, just at a lower resolution with reduced performance.

I wish we could make profiles with Wattman.. save and load profiles..

Just noticed it gets reset after having a power out yesterday, the settings I had set were all back to default.

As a fan of the soul series I quite enjoy the combat system of the surge. On NG+ and still enjoying it.

I just figured out that they actually do work (although perhaps the behavior has changed), at least for SWTOR (with 17.5.2 drivers, I haven't tested it with 17.5.1 since I discovered this). However, the auto-added profile for SWTOR in the driver points to launcher.exe instead of swtor.exe, so the settings are only applied for the launcher, not the game itself.

Since you apparently can't add an .exe to an existing profile, create a new Driver profile for <Path to SWTOR Game directory>\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe and set the Anti-Aliasing options you want there. The forced driver Anti-Aliasing should now work in SWTOR, it does for me on my two AMD Radeon HD7970Ms, at least.

If you see this happen with other games, check the .exe file names in the profiles, perhaps they are wrong for other games as well and point to launchers or other things. I hope this helps. :)

Combat is fine for me to, but game itself is not.

I delete the original profile created, and create a new one for SWTOR.exe. I guess I need to try to have both profiles present. Thio it's moot since I've been using VSR.

    Wrong, we are on 17.5.2
Changing that one DLL just drops the DX12 version of the driver.
The main display driver (DX11, OpenGL, Vulkan. All from 17.5.2) + applications ARE 17.5.2
I don't see also how is "too much trouble"
It's just one DLL to change in the 17.5.2 driver...

Got overrides working, however, with 17.5.2 the overrides have an issue with objects that are obstructed are being rendered. Back to using VSR.

ANY file change and it is no longer the true driver. It is a modded driver.

It's too much trouble because I have to download 2 drivers, stop the installation of both, and then switch a file. I don't have to do anything with 17.2.1 to have it working perfectly with every game I have

I was reluctant to install this driver after hearing that it fu*ked up FH3 performance, but after installation, game runs fine, short loading times and no performance or graphical issues whatsoever. At least so far.

I never said it's not modded.
But the main display driver is still from 17.5.2, so fixes to other games (NOT DX12 ones) still applies, same with the control panel, etc.

Still, this is the best way to do it, because, A- Windows won't downgrade it on its own nor you have to change the way Windows manage the drviers
B- All the benefits of 17.5.2

I'm uploading now an already modded driver.
I will post the link soon.
You don't even need to uninstall the current driver, just install over. (I have THROUGHLY tested it.)
