For firefox make sure you are running Win8 or newer and set:
    media.windows-media-foundation.allow-d3d11-dxva;true
    media.hardware-video-decoding.failed;false

the issues i had were with clock speeds set by afterburner, crimson would override(killing radeon settings would fix it), not really sure why, could just be my system configuration.

Doesn't seem to fully work on these drivers and latest Firefox DevEdition.
Installed 15.6 just for the test and H264 decoding was available with D3D11 render (no errors or blacklists whatsoever). However 1080p60fps videos on Youtube were dropping frames, slowing down and had A/V sync issues after a couple of seconds of playback.
And in Chrome most twitch and webm high fps videos have green/purple tint.

and that is why they are blacklisted lmao.

Even so most of these problems are not the drivers themselves, for firefox switching to cisco openh264 is the main reason and chromes Hwa implementation is really buggy(at least it was,the last time i checked).

Well with the 15.6 drivers Firefox enables H264 HW decode with D3D11 render but the problem with videos slowing down and dropping frames still persists. Maybe that's because 15.6 aren't officially supported on Win10 but whatever. So it seems like the only solution for legacy cards is to disable HWA for videos in Chrome and Firefox to get rid of all the issues?

problem probably wasn't noticed until later versions of amds driver,

.its not just legacy cards btw, many cards are having problems, amd, intel and nvidia cards alike

There's a newer revision of the 16.101.2901 driver on windows update - 16.101.2901.1003.

    I found also a newer FirePro driver there which supports non-gcn gpus - DriverVer=05/06/2016, 15.201.2901.1004 :)

15.201.2901.1004 Firepro driver is signed for non-gcn gpu's.

Opencl and Ulps(only with Windows 7) is working too.

Any link for that FirePro 15.201.2901.1004 driver for Win10 x64?
You mean you only tested it on Win7?

From what Darch mentioned to me on the unifl forums he has tested it on Win 7,8.1 and 10.

Whilst proper ULPS support only worked on 7.

By proper ULPS support please consider that having ULPS set to 1 on a lot of official drivers causes Windows to behave erratically on laptops with switchable graphics (specifically Intel + AMD) issues such as a minute long (if not more) blackscreen plus performance issues can be observed.

So Darch is saying that ULPS set to the default value of 1 works perfectly fine with Windows 7. It also has the benefit of giving the laptop greater battery life.

Now this blackscreen issue also doesn't affect all switchable graphics laptops. In my experience/ or from what I have seen on the unifl forums this is a HP Probook issue whilst other laptops suffer from delayed desktop loading and general degraded performance.

AMD broke ULPS for switchable laptops sometime ago. They are not going to fix it now and in our releases we always turn ULPS off. This however causes battery life to decrease. Most users do not care at this point since they just want performance.

Ah, I see. Are there any changes/benefits for a single GPU with disabled ULPS?
Like my idle clocks are 100/150, with ULPS disabled they'd go up to the max 775/1000 I assume? Or am I mistaken?

Am honestly not sure what it would do on a desktop but I imagine that the clocks wouldn't go into idle like you mention.

Only way to know for certain is to try it out.

Find all the EnableULPS dwords and set them to 0 .. restart.

I believe there is a tool on this forum that actually allows you to trigger AMD dwords.

1 this issue is present even in native dxva videoplayer. try to oc card -
    Code:
    forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=163110
states that it becomes capable of playing 4k, so i guess oc will also help with 1080 60fps video

2 use chrome 53 and launch it with /disable-nv12-dxgi-video

3 user1 could you please provide new va libs, because chrome couldnt play some videos when hw decode is on

1,2,3 - happens for me on hd 6550m (rename of 5650m)

4 offtopic: is there a way to run a8-5550m's 8550g + 8570m (mars) with newer crimson driver on win 8.1?

16.2.1 doesnt have driver for 8570m - 15.12 beta is latest non gcn which does have driver for it
and 8550g is legacy since apu considered legacy -
    Code:
    community.amd.com/thread/184670
    ,
so if i install anything newer - for example 16.3 march9, then 8550g stops working since it's terascale.
i could create franken driver by replacing some of 16.3 libs with older ones from 16.2.1 but it will run in non gcn mode.

also, is there a way to check if crossfirex is working and how to add new crossfire profiles?

Isn't it possible to install the latest non-GCN driver onto the 5650m via device manager (just the driver)

Then install the latest official AMD driver for the 8570m card?

FunkyMike those are 2 different systems:
    1 i3 380m + 6550m: dxva 60fps issue, chrome nv12 issue
    2 am a8-5550m apu 8550g (terascale) + discrete 8570m (gcn 1.0): gcn crimson issue

2 i indeed can instal latest non gcn driver onto 8550g (i think you misthinked it for 5650m) and then install any gcn driver on 8570m, but then 8550g will stop working.

Indeed I got a little confused but I am still very curious about your situation.

    Both of them actually:

Have you tried installing the terascale driver via Device Manager first and then installing the GCN driver normally?

It could be that Cnext just doesn't your Terascale.

Have you tried just using CCC instead?

    1 yes - 8550 stops working(code 43), 8570 works.

2 no, i dont know how
