Conversely, the opposite is also true. Fully anonymity only benefits the corrupt or dangerous. If you don't do anything wrong, then you have nothing to worry about.

And the NSA activities have what to do with something separate entirely? What, you think they're going to actively watch people's chatlogs and be able to send out a swat team minutes before an abduction to stop it? Assuming the case of an online predator, it's not like the victim's pc wouldn't have a ton of chatlogs and web cache to be recovered from the hard drive. And it's not like they don't have other measures in place for this type of stuff.
