How much did the 980 Ti cost at launch?

I was thinking about going for a 1080 this week, but if the 1080 Ti will cost around 800 euro i'll hold off and upgrade my CPU and motherboard first.

IF a 1080Ti will even come around. No real intel on that actually, or is there?

980ti was ~700-750€, but quicky dropped to ~650€ later.. just like most 1080.

I think this 1080ti will be the same ~750€ by rls then slowly dropping..

They are about to. The new cards coming out should match a 1070 at LEAST...or darn close to it.

1080 or 1080 Ti? Probably not....could be surprised...but probably no.

AMD is finally going places with cpu's too. Sure they may not match Intels extreme edition, but it's going to give much needed competition for a choice between say the i7 4790K and Zen. Price/Performance could make minds up for people.

If you consider that Fury X is not that far from 1070. If the new cards only matched 1070 they would be utter failures in every sense. I can see them matching 1080 and being close to Titan X P because why not.

1080ti could be an option for me as Vega will take forever and Navi even more so. But then theres Volta also... hmmmh

Well all signs point to Volta releasing in some form in 2017. So I'm sure we'll learn more about the architecture during the course of the next year. Older rumors point to it being a totally new architecture - which is kind of reinforced by the idea that it once again doubles perf/w in deep learning workloads. But as we've seen with Pascal, you can get double perf/w in specific workloads, without effecting gaming (FP16v2). So who knows what Volta is bringing.

There is also the new VideoCardz rumor that's claiming Vega 11 is replacing Polaris 10. Which sounds really weird to me. I imagine that some form of Vega will be competitive with a potential 1080 Ti.

Just saw recent Zotac 1080 Articstorm review and speaking of hardcore benchmark

    e.g. TimeSpy gpu score
    980TI @ 1460-1500mhz ~6300points
    1080 @ 2050-2150mhz ~8100points
    1080TI @ 2000mhz ~ 10.000points (this is 1900-1950MHz TitanXP)

Looks a lot, but in reality its up to 20-25fps difference at best by TitanXP OC, by 1080gtx @ max OC only 10fps vs old 980TI @ max OC..
lol that's what I meant before by I want moarr :D

    So theoretically Full Volta should be at least another 25-30+fps faster;
    test1 95fps,
    test2 80fps,

I want my next gpu to be at least this strong :pc1: lol Yeah if I still had 780GTX then it would go for 1080ti for sure and screw Volta :nerd:

I'm really opened to Green and Red Team, but let's be honest, AMD has left the enthusiast range for a while, not expecting them to do a magic comeback.

The -Ti price range is where i'm looking, and i expect 2-3 years of uncompromising graphic experience out of it.

With its overclock my AIO-cooled 980-Ti is just barely slower than the retail 1080, and i'll only upgrade for a 35-45% boost.

    @-Tj- 10k TimeSpy 1080-Ti would be a winner for me, i'm indeed around 6300 with my 980-Ti.

I'd be getting a decent boost out of going SLI 980 to 1080Ti, so for me personally the performance increase is there, and getting out of SLI would certainly be something to think about. If there is no 1080Ti I'll be happy to wait for Volta's (I've stated a few times that 'Volta's where it's at'), we'll see how things turn out. But recently I felt the itch again, completely out of nowhere hehe

To be honest, I'm not counting on AMD to offer something that battles Nvidia's top segment in dx11, in dx12 things might look different though. Then again, if Volta does indeed bring a new architecture, that might look different yet again.

The same old song ringing in my ear: I wish nvidia would tell us if and when there is going to be a 1080Ti (and how Volta will be laid out and when) :bugeye:

For me not much.. Its what 780gtx was in firestrike.. ok, but meh..:nerd:

Besides there isnt a game that needs such power, at least not visually appealing, shame nubs are taking so long.. I remember y2015 was suppose to have cgi gfx, but here we are almost y2017 and still nothing..:infinity::D

Just like they even said dx12 would let us render the graphics of Star Wars Episode 1 in realtime, and talking about the huge armies clashing and that? :D Got to love PR work these days...

The 3 words PR guys have spam on us for the last 3 years are "Photogrammetry", "APIs", and "Procedural".

I've yet to see any good use of any of this technology (Battlefront Photogrammetry, ok, looks pretty cool)

But we've heard stuff about APIs for 2/3 years and it's still barely happening, nothing convincing yet, except if you're on AMD. The Boundaries haven't been pushed yet.
My real hopes went on Star Citizen, as i doubt any major studio will go as far as i wish.

    "Moar Graphix pls"

NB: I wonder what was the impact of the higher resolution trend, on actual games developement.
Some studio could have think 'screw 4K, we'll put a gtx1080 to its knees in 1080p with an amazing environment full of animations, and complex lightnings.

While game developpers make their title 4K-Ready, they don't push the actual density and complexity of their 3D scene, that's my issue here.

Say what? Fury X is nowhere near a GTX 1070 in any way.

Well, Star Citizen probably could do it, but everybody else is too lazy to port a well scaling game that shows some effects and still run well on lower detail / resolution, and if they need to chose, they will always run 30fps on consoles. So unless devs know and are fine with producing a game that is barely sold, it would be an unlogical choice to release such a moar graphix game :D

10% on 1440p where these cards are used is not a lot. 5% on 4k is not a lot. On 1080p there is a bigger difference yeah. Closer in dx12/Vulkan ofc.

So it is rather near. Never said it is better. But said that if AMD released something that barely beat 1070 it would be pointless.

I see more and more price guides listing 1080ti without price (this is usually a confirmation that they got some info, but are not allowed to give prices yet.)
