Because CPU AMD has bottlenecked - it's less efficient than Intel at each core/thread despite 8-core AMD. Try upgrade to Intel Sandy (i3/i5/i7 2000), Ivy (i3/i5/i7 3000) or Haswell (i3/i5/i7 4000) to get improve performance. ;)

Mainly to add another AMD card to this list :)

    This is my run on a i5 3570K @4.2, and a R9-290@1100/1350.
For some reason it show up as 3GB of VRAM, but it shouldn't be a problem.
Loading times don't seem to make any difference to the score.
    Loading from a raid0 of 2x7200rpm WD 2.5" 750GB drive = 39-41s load times.
From my Secondary SSD Samsung 840 EVO, i get 19-20s load times.

    The score :

The CPU still leaves a lot in the GPU but better than the 1090T

Changing to High (Desktop) netted me 11862. Seeing how close the runs and framerates were at times, I cannot help but think the benchmark is not well optimised by or for AMD, and that there may be some bottlenecks somewhere.

And save best for the very last

5120X3200/ALL SETTINGS MAXED OUT/DX 11 and my Frame buffer was out while this was at it, I knew it will be but here are the results if anyone is interested:

    MISC STUFF(SOFTWARE MODE/TESTING PURPOSES)

CPU ONLY(NO GPU BEING USED) @ BCLCK 103.6(2.9ghz/All cores were NOT being Utilized/Roughly 75% of it was being used).

I tried shutting down the cores down to 8 cores each per cpu/socket to see if it would change the utilization of the cpu's, nope, made it even worse, so I change it back to 12/12 configuration.

Cpu #0 was using roughly around 50-89% on all cores it seems, the other one was like mid 40's to upper 60 into the 70% range, not even utilizing 100% usage but this is just misc b.s. for everyone to see, I was just rather curious, so this score what you see would be much higher if it was utilizing more usage.

    HERE:

    1280X720/All quality settings set to bare minimum(Except physics)/DX11(DX9 won't even launch/error):

    UPDATE:

Ok, I am trying to do some sli but running into some problems:

While checking MSI AB, the gpu usage ain't using 100% on both gpu's, if I put it on dx11, that puts more stress then dx9 thus utilizing more usage, but certain scenes aint even using 60% or higher usage, some are using 80%+ or higher but not even 100% for some reason.

I am using nvidia inspector and the profile I am using is the ffxiv - the realm reborn, using the sli profile, seems like its working but the utilization is not there, anyone knows of another sli hex code to use???

    ANOTHER UPDATE:

Even though sli says enabled, it was NOT working properly, Tried lost Planet @ 4k with everythign maxed out and it was not even using the second gpu, did some stuff, now its working, ran the ffxi benchmark, score seems somewhat higher but looking at the gpu usage, certain scenes were only using 35-50% on both gpus, some well over 80%????

Ok here are 1440 and 3840(4k) benchmarks,dx 11, all maxed out settings.

the 1440 resolution, although the score is much higher then single but the gpu usage was not using 100% at all times, whereas the 4k was using Alot more usage, mainly putting more stress on to the 2 gpu's, and my score for 4k nearly almost doubled, I skipped the 1080-dx11 benchmark, the score wasn't much of a difference, its amazing to see people scaling alot more better then what I am doing @ 1080, even though the 970 is laughing at it.

Both cards @ 1600mhz(Core), memory clock on one card is @ 7750mhz, the other @ 7830mhz.

I tried not to sync similar gpus together, but for some reason, the second card's gpu speed is syncing with the main one, thus running @ 1600mhz, here are the results:

    2560X1440-DX11-ALL MAXED OUT-2 GTX 970's(above mentioned speeds):

Man, Excellent Scaling there friend, Did you use nvidia inspector? If so, which hex code did you use or did you use factory set ffxiv profile within inspector? Thats sick..
