The GTX 780's specifications have also surfaced and Hermitage Akihabara have managed to get the official spec sheet. It shows that the card will have 2,304 CUDA cores and a base clock of 863 MHz with a boost clock of 900 MHz. This would create a single precision compute power of 4.0 TFlops. The card's memory would be 3 GB, running over a 384-bit memory interface at a speed of 6.0 GHz. The card would be fed power through a combination of an 8-pin and a 6-pin PCIe Power connector, and have a TDP of 250 W. External display connectivity would be handled by two dual link DVI ports, an HDMI port and a 1.2 DisplayPort.

Those prices are suspect a $150 jump from 760ti to the 770. The 770 will cost 50% more than the 760ti and only perform 10-15% better guess Nvidia learns nothing with the 670-680.

Yep I hope too. I'll be going back to Nvidia. I go back and forth one gen to the other.

Selling these off then grabbing two 780's at that price is awesome.

Why are you selling off your 7970s?

Well maybe he can but selling 2x7970 he will lose some cash right there and then get a 2x780gtx for 600$ is a good thing to do?

In my eyes are waste of money for no real performance increase.

So the GTX 780 looks like it will cost around £480-£500 here in the UK then? At that price I think I'd be tempted to just buy the more powerful Titan assuming that it is appreciably faster than the GTX 780 (plus it has twice the VRAM).

Personally, if those prices are true then I'm disappointed in NVIDIA. A new generation of graphics card should replace the previous at the same price point IMO, particularly as the GTX 680/670 are 14 month old technology now. The GTX 770 is clearly the GTX 670 replacement and the GTX 780 is meant to suceed the GTX 680 so why are they going to charge over £100 more?

I'm going to do the same (2 x HD7970 - > SLI 780) and believe me, if you play @ 1440p you'll defenitly notice a performance increase besides i'm tired of depending on 3rd party software (RP) to reduce the MS.

Yeah in my opinion the new cards are ****.
Also i do not think they will be £500, not a bloody chance in Hades!
    I reckon around £650.
    Roll on Maxwell.

$600 = £600 + VAT in the hardware game no?

They should include a free coupon to an all you can eat buffet for that kind of rape.

No real performance increase? The fact that crossfire is really messed up right now but even if the scaling actually was perfect it would still be a decent increase in performance. An then when you throw in the fact that when frame time is accounted for you get nowhere near as good of scaling as you do with NVIDIA the performance increase will be quite substantial in a SLI situtation compared to his current crossfire config.

An if he can get atleast 300 dollars for his current cards which he will prob get even more then that but say he got 600 dollars for both cards getting SLI 780s for around 600 bucks is a pretty nice upgrade...Although personally I would wait for Maxwell.

I agree the new pricing trends really suck...like the Titan for 1000 dollars when I think most people agree they were expecting that to be the 500 dollar card this gen. Hopefully AMD will have something that can compete with the 780 to drive prices down.

This is exactly why I am waiting for Maxwell cause if I am going to drop 500+ dollars on a gpu it damn well better be a big upgrade. I stayed with my GTX 480 when the 580 came out for exactly this reason and went to the 680 which was a pretty huge increase in performance over the 480 so it was a nice upgrade... although the 780 does seem to be much more of a worthy upgrade from the 680 then the 480 to the 580 was I still plan on skipping it as I only play at 1080p an there is absolutely nothing I cannot play with one 680 with either max setting or near max settings atm.

If it weren't for the fact that my card only has 2GB it would actually be far more cost effective for people with existing 680s to just buy used cheap 680s when the prices plummet after 780 release...I may still do this if I can find a card for under 300 dollars as SLI seems to be pretty reliable nowadays.

Im hoping NO is the operative word here.

Currently Titan is ~ $1000 in US and ~ £800 in UK.

So heres hoping 780 will be more like £400-£450, but probably be ~ £500

Yeah but wasn't the initial titan price £1000? And what was the retail price in the usa on release?
