    I've been trying to do downsampling and I've created a custom resolution with less than 165 MHz pixel clock just like the OP said but for some reason, scaling doesn't work. I've set it to override applications and games, aspect ratio scaling and to perform it on my GPU yet it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm using an EVGA 460 GTX SC with W7 32-bit. I'm using 310.33 beta drivers but the same thing happens with 306.97 drivers as well.

    Using these timings I was able to get 3680x2070 to post on both my HDTV and my H233H. Yay for 59Hz! Means it's selectable in games without using a modified driver or windowed mode.

    Code:
    dllPathD3D9=SweetFX_d3d9.dll
    dllPathDXGI=auto
    dllPathD3D11=auto
    In config, part with dllPath is to point next library to connect to.
    In case you have 2 wrappers in same folder, you just have to rename one which is second.

    Sometimes I use Helix-d3d9 wrapper which is made to disable vertex/pixel shader code. (I actually use it for its ability to modify shaders)

    When I use these settings:

    [IMG]

    The image doesnt stretch across the whole screen. I get black bars on the side. Like it's a 16:10 resolution on a 16:9 monitor...

    Otherwise it works but games would be silly. Anyone know what I can change around it fix it?

    Try setting the refresh rate down to 59Hz. 60Hz is just a bit too high for QFHD on standard monitors.

    this method is working good for my games, but I can not have antialiasing on as it kills my fps, which is a drawback because sometimes still need it to fix some jaggies objects when moving.

    witcher 2 vids play really slow. but the gameplay is fast

    skyrim keeps showing the word Level up on the side( doing a google search show other people have the same problem). someone on the dev team should be able to fix this.

    I have settings that work with a refresh rate of 58... but I want 60 for the few games that REQUIRE you to be running 60. Dead Space 2 comes to mind. It ignores resolutions that use anything except a 60 refresh rate :( The highest I can go in that game is 1800p. The same settings for my 1800p res dont work, of course, for 2160p....

    Can someone help me to get the custom resolutions to show up?

    I'm using an U2711H and i can only get higher resolutions to show up in the control panel at 30Hz (3840*2160 for example) or 2880*1620 but they're not selectable options in games.

    Downsampling with NV control Panel and also with NV Inspector using 8MSAA + 8xSGSSAA looks great. If your monitor won't do 3840x2160 or 3200x1800, try 2560x1440 or 2880x1620.

    2560x1440 still looks great in most games and a half decent 920x1080 16:9 monitor should run it at least (even 3200x1800). Maybe try HDMI cable if you don't have any luck, but don't to forget to set your monitor to HDMI through it's own menu if it doesn't detect the flipping HDMI cable and you're wandering WTF.

    I already am at 2560*1440 natively (Dell U2711H).

    I've created various res for my monitor but left Hz at 60. I've noticed that even 2560x1600 tends to be sluggish, is it too much for 560ti 1GB @ ~570 clocks?
    Does lowering refresh rate increase performance?
    Also, why do you guys use 'auto' instead of 'manual'? What are the benefits of it?

    edit: just checked my monitors specs and they say:

    Horizontal Refresh Rate
    30 - 83kHz
    Vertical Refresh Rate
    56 - 75Hz

    perhaps that's the reason why i was able to do 3360x2100 without any blackscreens or other issues.

    Well going higher resolution than your monitor will make it more sluggish.

    2560x1440 from 1920x1200 is 1.6x more pixels (I think?). So yea, of course your GPU will work more. I don't know if performance scales in a linear way.

    I'm trying out 2560x1600@60Hz from 1680x1050@60Hz right now.
    I'm mostly interested if decreasing refresh rate improves performance, as I've noticed people in this thread go as low as 54Hz or even 50Hz.

    They are lowering the refreshrate to get a lower clockrate to get a higher resolution. Something you don't have to worry about it seems.
    Lowing the refreshrate does not help performance. If it did those with 120hz monitors would be screwed :wanker:

    Thanks for this guide it works wonders on Dead Space 2 and I'm sure many other games where the PC isn't limited by horsepower.

    sometimes cinamatics in games play really slow with the higher resolution

    for example witcher 2 play fine with 3200x1800, except when your talking to people then it really slows down.

    That has to do with the cinematic depth of field. It is rendered at full screen res (not half res like most games) so it really sucks performance down.

    well I was finally able to get 3840x2160 working on mine, but only at 54hz, which games wont detect.

    I was testing some things I installed a custom monitor inf and games still didnt detect the resolution.
    but then I put the resolution to my desktop and then started the game and the game detect the resolution.

    and no red screens!!!!
