Yes, no change. I tested every sound driver for my dell optiplex 745, which is soundmax, using the stable one now, no change. I tested my sound card, Diamond PCI, no change. Its a strange issue because in the video i posted the sound issues only happens at the menu and intro screens, but once in the game it goes away and the game is moving just fine. Warframe no issues at max settings no issues. The sound issues and bad framerate is only happening in certain games, no every one. It also happens when im listening to music and i hit refresh you can hear the static and crackling.

In the video, it seems like something is running too fast which is causing the sound issue, why it only happens at the menu and not in the game i have no idea. is the menu more demanding than the game :wanker:

Another strange thing, when i click on folders, it sounds like two sounds are clicking at the same time.

May be the opposite - FPS is rocketed in menu causing the problem.

Thanks guys for all the help and stuff, I'm just going to leave this discussion about the IRQ thing alone, I'm sure its my Motherboard being so old and stuff. Just going to play what i can and leave it at that until i upgrade.

Anyways, i have a quick question " processor power management" set the "minimum processor power state" to 100% and the "Maximum Power State" to 100% "

both those options are missing from my power options, i have notice this for a while now since i had this computer, but was curious why are they missing. All i see under power management is active cooling.

You can try to restore plan defaults - there is a button with such name.
Also you can go to regedit and locate keys "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEm\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\893dee8e-2bef-41e0-89c6-b55d0929964c" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEm\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\bc5038f7-23e0-4960-96da-33abaf5935ec". If they are there then check whether these keys have a REG_DORD value "Attributes" set to 1. If they have then set value to 0.

I don't think either one of my dells supports that feature, its not on my dell 780 as well. and i went into registry and set it to 1 , no change. dell is horrible :) I'm upgrading next month and never again will i buy a dell computer.

I'm done with this thread, but thanks to everyone for trying to help. :)

Do you mean that Win7 on your Dell uses custom power plan from Dell? If yes then you can switch back to default Windows power plans.

And don`t set it to 1 - this will hide setting. Set it to 0.

You see both those keys have REG_DWORD value "ValueIncrement" both set to 0. To me this 0 is strange because it means "the step in which user can change power plan parameter". In my rig both values set to 1.

In previous post I was talking about REG_DWORD value "Attributes" which hides the setting when it is set to 1. There are no such values in both pictures you posted.

Instead of making another thread, just had a question about something. In my bios my memory speed is at 667mhz, but i notice when i removed 2 of my ram sticks and put in two of the same speeds its higher at 800mhz, but when i put the extra back in it drops back to 666mhz. I have 5 ddr2 memory sticks, two of them are the same, the other two are i believe over 500 something, and the last one is 667. Any idea how to increase the speed higher to 800mhz or i need to have all sticks running at the same speed. I'm just curious to why its dropping when i add the other two in.

When you use mixed memory planks they work with speed supported by all of them, iirc.

Running mixed memory with different speeds/timings all of them will be forced to run at the slowest of the set.
