Did anyone use nhibitor to find max voltage? i have it on my other drive so i cant get to it right now,but was wondering
its time flash your 680 with 770 bios if it aint broke, break it... Anyway i don't see no point in doing this just to achieve higher stock clocks, better to play it safe and just use afterburner..
Ok then its been rumored to have higher voltage then 680....is it a bunk bios someone made or real??? only time will tell
Seriously guys, i will not run on it, before the 770 are out. it seems, it is just a 680 bios with new inf. http://www.techpowerup.com/183936/geforce-gtx-680-can-be-flashed-to-gtx-770.html If the spec of the 770 is just a 680 with 1125/7000mhz clockspeed 8 and turbo2.0), just push your 680 to 1150mhz ( Evga 680 FTW run at 1176mhz or 1150mhz ). Its not like it was not achievable before on the 680. ( most peoples i have see here run at 1200+ mhz).. for the memory speed, if this number is correct, this can just be Nvidia have got different bin of chips and you will need more voltage for achieve it (if your rams stay stable ) ( the 600 and 7000 series are out since while now ). Then when the 770 is out, and if it is possible to use the bios of it on the 680, you will be able to try it. AT least, you will be sure it is the 770 bios.
While this may be a rebrand, at least it's rebranded as a worse model. For example, I own a HD5750, and the HD6750 ended up being the exact same thing (with an advertised newer openGL version). However, I actually wasn't too disappointed by this because the HD5700 stock ran out pretty quick, and the HD6700 series ensures I can safely crossfire in the future. As for nvidia users though, this seems disappointing considering that you likely won't be able to SLi a 680 with a 770 due to SLi's pickier demands. The BIOS update might help, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.
Why not when they are the same cards, if you don't want to risk flashing, just get a marker out, scribble the 6 and 8 out on the cooler, and just whack 7s in their places, and for full effect, just edit the drivers so it reads as 770, and for extreme, do the same on your box/manual, and everything else that says 680 that came with your card Jobs a good'un
Soooo...What would happen if a 680 customer successfully flashed it to a GTX 770 and then later purchased an actual 770 and attempted to SLI? That would be really interesting to see!
People seem to have hard on for flash there gpu for what ever reason. Firmware flash to gpu is not something that should be done for simple reason. you might brick your 500+ card, But people do it anyway. Then they come to the forums asking for help on something that SHOULD NEVER be done unless its to fix problem related to the hardware, and that only if it was something that effects you.
