    I meant this:

Tesselation level in Unigine is normal, see the first post

cool feature, agree there is almost no difference between 6x and max 64x (16x?), only the wireframe shows its more dense at max., but yea no one would play on that :D

btw; has anyone tried Alien vs predator if it runs better?

The truth is (as already suggested) that we can't really see the difference in game using any level of extreme tessellation. Unless you ask for wire frame, making it redundant. It appears that with this slider AMD has made the point very clear that developers shouldn't abuse tessellation because going over a certain among doesn't yield any better IQ. Unless you're into wire frame game play. IMO 4x is more then enough for all games.

Sorry this is wrong. It depends on the game.

Sorry, you are wrong, that is my opinion and I stand by it. There is no reason for more tessellation.

got 46.1 with amd optimized on
    46.2 with 2x 6x
    46.2 with 64x

    1920x1080 veryhigh/high 0xaa / 16x af tes adv shadows on.
the only thing i can see a difference is uniegine atm.

LOL, that's all you gotta say? "your wrong" with nothing to back it up. No, I'm correct to have my opinion on the situation. Your "wrong" for thinking I'm not suppose to have one. So stop getting mad because that all your response amounts to. But understand this...if next gen consoles use tessellation you will see 1st hand how much will be used.

    LOL

"8x" is the best performance/quality wise in my opinion...

Good question, thank you Snajlin for answering this one. Another question like it, does Stalker CoP see any benefits? It too supports tessellation, in regularly visible areas. I know Dirt 2 went kinda weak on tessellation since it's only used in the flags or water splashes which are rarely even seen.

Try setting the slider manually and unchecking AMD optimized. Start at 2x...

I've noticed an improvement using AVP at 4x with no noticeable difference.

Blinded? You cannot speak for all people, ok?

    4x

As I said the difference depends on the game. Applications with a max level of 16x like Unigine are completely differrent to applications with a maximum of 64x. You cannot dumbly sax 4x is enough when games working on a different initial level of tessellation.

That's not relevant at all LOL. 4X will be more then enough in games with no decernable difference in the games we play. Furthermore, if next gen consoles use tessellation you won't see 32x making your comparison moot at best. The in game IQ only needs to differentiate itself from DX9/DX10 and you don't need 32x tessellation to do it. Using that much tessellation doesn't improve the IQ of the game.
    LOL

More than enough for you maybe, but that's not that relevant at all as well. If you cannot see the difference to 4x you are in the wrong place here. You should reduce also textur details, shadows details, water, PP, and so on....also not that relevant in your eyes...or maybe a console is something for you.

I agree. Sometimes less equals more. Especially in this example.
