It could very well be that AMD is working on a Dual-GPU 7970 GHz, thus Radeon HD 7990 edition graphics card. Rumors are that this is being developed under codename Malta. Both GPU's would be clocked ...

I'd like to see them release a 7980 (single GPU card competing against the Titan).

Malta sounds a lot better than "titan" no...much more style etc :)

really what's with AMD's name scheme. lets have something a little more adventurous no?

p.s never been to Malta, isnt it the home of the Knights Hospitaller?

    Oh yes we do! :nerd:

Unfortunately Titans price tag is WAY out of my reach, so maybe AMD will do something really nice for a reasonable price.

Why thanks (I live in Malta) kinda surprised they even know this country exists, maybe there's a Maltese engineer working at AMD?

It used to be until it was lost to the French in the 1790s... and the UK a few years later (nobody liked the French at the time xD), now it's a republic.

Let's see how it performs. The Titan looks hard to beat with a current generation AMD single GPU solution. But if priced right a dual GPU card may outsell the Titan.

Like a new 5970 almost. They coulda done that to start with IMO, down-clock a pair of cherry-picked 7970 chips (for low voltage) and stick 'em on a 300 or 375W board, with 6+8 or 2 x 8 pin PCIe power connectors. 6GB VRAM, that woulda been a killer card a year ago.

Me too and at reasonable price - not that nvidia joke, i mean Titan :p

This leaked Sapphire chart with 2304 cores at 1225Mhz could do the trick.

Two 7970 would easily beat titan. but titan is a single gpu this is dual so its not on the same page.

Yo Hilbert, I think "Radeon HD 7790 Rumors" is supposed to be 7970.

    We already have 1000Mhz 7970...

There was a 6790 as well and considering this quote

I think you are confused. As I recall a lot of people got 6790 and 6970 confused as well.

    Indeed.

nVidia can also release a Dual GPU Titan and then AMD still got nothing to compete with ^^

Nvidia cannot and will not release a dual GPU titan.

They would have to cut down both the GPUs on it, which doesn't really make it Titan anymore.

Titan is just a scaled up 680. That's it. If you cut it down, then you just have another 690.
