was the titan run at stock clocks with a stock cpu?

not sure, cannot see any info on that - could be stock but as it stands it can be beaten just by tweaking the power setting booster setting.

the max voltage 1 and 2 makes a big difference, changing it from 1150 to 1187 made the card go from 1184 to 1320. It did crash but with more tweaks I got 1359 (max stability). Every card is different but 680s have so much going for them.

my card is the EVGA GTX680 OC+ no water cooling or anything. With the tweaks I don't ever go past 77oC.

    must have been at stock, Hilbert's Titan review shows Titan scoring 12155 in 3DMark11 with (I'm assuming) a i7 3960 @ 4.6ghz.

but still I recon 770 780 or titan you could get a lot more out of them, love to have a go at a titan but at tho moment can not justify £800 when all games I play run smooth on the 680 tweaked.

time to have a bear its to hot in this room now lol

Hah. I've taken to benching to warm my hands or feet when I get chilly.

Thanks for the responses guys, now that I've got a couple days off I'm going to be reevaluating this issue and seeing what can be done to get SLI to work. I'm at the absolute limit of what these 680s can do on their modded 680 BIOS without hardmodding for more voltage (limited only by my 2600k now). And I am very, very tempted to hardmod if I can find someone with soldering tools and can still fit everything under a Heatkiller water block.

I thought this as well, and will be looking into the inf files if I can find a legit plain-Jane 770 BIOS.

Bloodduty, great info, thanks! I've yet to mess with the Kepler BIOS tweaker. Now's as good a time as any.

These are my scores to beat.

    Caedo --- i7 2600k at 4.7 GHz --- GTX 680 SLI ; Reference EVGA 1306 MHz / 7204 MHz ; Reference EVGA Superclocked 1280 MHz / 7012 MHz

Driver 320.49 WHQL - best benchmark score driver I've used, though not the most stable. That goes to 314.22 WHQL.

    3DMark 11 - P16741
    [IMG]

    3DMark Fire Strike - 12081
    [IMG]

    Heaven 4.0 - 76.0 FPS (1915)

    Valley 1.0 - 99.3 FPS (4155)

Heaven run downclocks at scene 23 because my Superclocked isn't quite stable. That card has been a headache on all BUT the modded 770 BIOS, which gave me rock-solid stability even OC'd to max. Nvidia settings on "Performance" for those runs; "Quality" loses 5 FPS in Valley, 3-ish in Heaven, and has basically no effect on 3DMark scores (within run-to-run margin of error).

Can I flash my ASUS GTX 680 2GB DCII TOP OC with the GTX 770 2GB DCII TOP OC BIOS without destroying it?

The last picture I saw of the 680 DCII TOP and 770 DCII TOP boards showed them to be identical. I'd venture to say yes, you can flash the 770 DCII TOP BIOS to the 680 version of the same.

OK so I managed to get a EVGA 770 Classified here and I now I see why the bios flashing on my 680 classified wont work. The 770 uses a different GPU

    680

    GK104-400-A2

    770

    GK104-425-A2

    780 is that a typo?

A 780 can't flash to a 680; GK110 vs GK104 and all that. A 770 can flash to a 680, though, since they're the same GPUs with a different BIOS and newer (presumably better, definitely higher rated) memory. Not everybody is having equal success with flashing different 2GB 770 BIOS's to their 2GB 680s though. I don't know why that is. :(

Yes it's a typo. Also the 770 Classified is using different ram (Samsung) than the 680 Classified (Hynix). Probably why Nvidia is able to hit the 7Ghz on it. Other than that, there is absolutely no visual difference between the PCB of both cards.

How great is the ability to damage the card? Can anyone confirm Caedo's statement?

    HI guys,
Been following the thread, and just like to add my input, currently have 2 asus gtx 680 Directcu ii hotwired, I have been successfully flashing the GTX 770 directcu ii bios, from here And SLI working fine, [IMG]
Haven't tried pushing with the overclock, but ran few Heaven Benchmarks and Valley with no problems, memory overclock is a lot better than the standard gtx 680 bios, Only problem I have is that the GTX770 bios doesn't seem to want to boot under Uefi, I have to use the legacy option for the gtx cards. in the bios, Also noticed, I have to use a lot less voltage via hotwire to keep my cards stable, than standard gtx 680 bios,

    Can you please test 3DMark and/or 3DMark 11 and a couple games?

Just tried the EVGA GTX 770 ACX BIOS without success in SLI. As before, it can sometimes run Heaven and Valley, but cannot run 3DMark 11 and 3DMark Fire Strike. Still getting a black screen of death upon trying to load into the first test.

However, when SLI is disabled and the 2nd card is used for PhysX, it runs in 3DMark just fine.

Now testing Nvidia's 770 BIOS. Probably won't be different but who knows.

Edit: I'm a prophet. Still no dice.

I don't currently have 3Dmark installed, but iv been playing few games, Borderlands 2, WoW, and Total War shogun, without any problems, both GPUs show normal usage, I did notice that my GPUs do get warmer, but nothing to high. so far overclocking wise, iv got it stable at 1320/7204(boost), tho, im using hotwire to overvoltage the GPUs, and my cooler is Accelero Hybrid,

Huh. Why the heck can't I get SLI working yet...

My only two reservations with hardmodding is lacking solder tools / skills and no confirmation that it will still fit under a Heatkiller water block. If I can't watercool it, it's no good for me.

holystarlight has your graphics card and tried out the 770 BIOS and seems to be working well for him. Hell, with just one card (no SLI), the 770 BIOS worked awesome for me, too.

only GTX770 VB Ver 80.04.B4.00.AS04 bios works for my cards in SLI, the other GTX770 VB Ver 80.04.B4.00.AS03 keeps crashing for me, just a heads up, but that's only for my asus gtx 680 Directcu II
