Soz its been awhile had a few probs... but anyway it boots at them settings.... starts windows then as soon as its about to go to desktop it crashes, 0000x18 or something... I tryed uping the volts to 1.55, not sure if i should go the hole hog 1.65, is if safe? or would looser timings work? soz but i no F*** all about memory :bang: but im learning! lol OH! n I got the cpu! it kicks ass! got to 4.7ghz @82c but on this psu n overclock on the 2 7850s Im pushing it I guess, its 550w 46amp single rail, am I taking the piss out of it???
If you want to change over, definitely get at least DDR3-2133. DDR-2133 is the 'sweet' spot on Ivy and Haswell. Of course, you have to take cost in to account, but it's often very similar or only a few dollars more than DDR3-1600, in which case it is definitely worth it .
Cheers Pill Monster!! it worked! 1600mhz 9-10-10-30 t1 1.55v This may sound stupid but how should i test it? with prime? loads of ram used? or something else?
thats some really loose timings for ddr3 1600. mine were 7-8-7-24-2t by default. try something like 9-9-9-27 1t memtest and p95 latest blend maximum memory will test your ram
Tryed them timings but it didnt work, it would boot but windows crashes straight away, its ddr3 1333 overclocked to 1600, any other ideas? and would it make much of a diffrence? Cheers for ya help!
Right, I been mincing around with it as ya do and it works at 9-10-9-24-t1, it wont work at all as soon as i turn that 10 into a 9, not sure if i should drop anything else any lower or even if it would make a diffrence, i would love to get that 10 into a 9 seen as thats how the ram worked with 1333 default. any advice would be good! cheers!
